Why do they call 1 [Old] the other [New] as to say one is no longer acceptable because we have a better one. I thought G-d is the same G-d and his word never changes or passes away since the Torah makes it clear the the New covenent will be written in our HEARTS not in the wriiten code or in ink because that we have already and there is no need to add to it.

Can anyone give me a rational aproach to this question?

The word "testament", primarily signifies the covenant which God entered into first with Abraham, then with the people of Israel. The Prophets had knowledge of a new covenant to which the one concluded on Mount Sinai should give away. Accordingly Christ at the Last Supper speaks of the blood of the new testament.

Cheers :-)

There are 66 books in the Christian Bible, more for those who include the apocrypha.

The Old Testament was written before Jesus. The New Testament was written after Jesus.

Christianity recognizes Jesus as the New Covenant.

Jesus gives two commandments. One is like the Vaahavta, you shall love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. The second is like unto it, love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Jesus teaches that the covenant is indeed written in our hearts. Instead of some 700 laws to teach us how to keep the 10 commandments, we have the law of love, the law of the heart. Everything we do, every choice we make, is to be governed by the law of love.

the Old Testament teaches us rich material about God, mankind's need for God, the need for a Messiah. A lot of it was written specifically to the Jewish people, and not to Gentiles. All of this in the Old Testament was before the birth of Jesus.
Then comes the division. The birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Most Jews did not accept Him as Messiah, but others did. It was a whole new world because the Savior had come bringing salvation to whosoever believed in Him.

the word sequel wasn't around yet. the new covenant was written on the hearts of those who kept the love and life of CHrist alive before His testament could be written. when Christ died the temple curtians were torn in two - breaking the old from the new. the old testament was thhe start, the new testament is our rebirth our true beginning.
