One night about five years ago I was laying in my bed half sleep and half awake lucid I think, then out of nowhere I heard a voice call my name, it was a deep powerful voice and it kinda echoed a little, then I felt a very warm comforting sensation around my body it was like a strong force or something I don't really know how to explain what I felt, anyway I opened my eyes to see if someone in my room was calling me and I only saw my brother sleeping in his bed on the other side of the room. While im looking around the room I can still feel this warm sensation, still lucid at the time and my mind was totally blank I was'nt thinking about anything I just heard a voice call my name and I replied GOD? and then I did'nt hear anything. I did'nt really know how to respond I was'nt expecting to hear my name called. I do believe it was god that called my name but why just my name?is there a certain way I should have answered? is there something that he wants me to do?

It was a shout from your brother who was sleeping near you and shouting in his dream calling your name.

Personally I don't believe in 'God'. But if there is one, I don't think it works quite like that.
God surely doesn't tell people what to do. I think (S)he just plants reminders around the place, but the actions, they're up to you.
So what have you done since 5 years ago? This is obviously something that affected you. Have you changed your life at all, or just 'puzzled'? As Nichola says, maybe you've been blessed. And it seems a shame to waste it.
So I suggest you look at your life. See what you can do to make the world a better place and to live better yourself.
And I have heard prayer can help. Just don't expect answers like your 'voice'. The answers come from awareness within. Because I think that if these is a God and if (S)he talks to men, it's through our hearts, not (usually) our ears.
And maybe what was important wasn't what was said but how you felt. Maybe.

A similar thing happened to me many years ago but it was at a time when I was very troubled and unhappy. I believe that The Source can and does talk to us all the time from within ouselves. Often we just aren't aware or are too busy to listen. Are you ok or are you having a bad time? Either way - keep listening. The warm feeling is the ecstacy of union with the Source and is there for us all the time if we want it to be.

I think it was God speaking to you. It doesn't have to be a super message the first one from God. Ask God to speak to you again in your prayers and he may speak into your mind this time.
I know a few people that have heard an audible voice of God like you, so your not weird.
Don't worry I am called a sczophrenic and I take medication but God leads me, speaks to me and is good to me.

Whether it was God or not, there is something you can do. Do good things. Maybe this was what he wanted you to do. If the voice was truly God's, then you must be very blessed. Many faithfuls do not have this theopany, an experience of the presence of God. Do good.

In all seriousness ... I don't believe it was God calling out your name. God doesn't do that.
You probably heard your name called out in the midst of a dream, just as you were awakening. Natural to think it was while you were awake, and not so out of whack to think it may have been God. But, I think not. Seriously.

Maybe it was God, but who really knows for sure. If you're seeking to know if it really was Him, then I think you should pray for Him to speak to you and guide you. He is faithful to answer you if you would just ask.

There is this medicine called serequel, and you should get some, it should stop the voices before they tell you something dangerous. The condition you have is called Schizophrenia, and from your description your case isn't serious, YET. So go get some meds and stay away from guns, PLEASE!

Been there... done that!
It was how Samuel was called as a child.... If your name was called 3 times, and you went into a vivid trance of some kind, then it is how it is done......

I don't think it was God. It sounds like hypnosis to me. God likes literacy and eloquence. Pray to him.
