Most minor bite wounds heal without veterinary care but any bite wound, no matter how small, can become infected fairly easily because teeth are full of bacteria and puncture wounds do not bleed much. The safest thing is to have it checked by a vet but it is not an emergency, ie, you can make an appointment with your regular vet. Either way, it should not be bandaged and the wound should be kept open (scabs broken away) so it can freely drain - it has to heal from the inside or an abscess can develop.
At six months, your puppy is becoming sexually mature and older dogs that played when the pup was younger will not be as tolerant with them, especially if they are the same sex. It's all part of the learning process - the older dog doesn't see him as a pup anymore but as competition and is attempting to show he is dominant. This is usually healthy since the adult will rarely badly wound a puppy but if the pup didn't learn his manners until a later age, a real fight with serious wounds could result. Of course, just like people, there is the occasional crazy dog that will hurt a pup and I assumed, since I couldn't tell from your question, that this was the typical minor wound. If it needed stitches, keep them apart from now on until you can be sure that they once again get along but never leave them unsupervised.

As long as your pup's 'favorite' playmate has been given it's rabies jab, and equally vitally, jabs for distemper, tetanus, hepatitis ( you can get all these, except the rabies jab in 1 injection it maybe OK. If the playmate has not had any of these in the past 12 months, get the pup to a vet NOW!
Also, find out why the dog bit the pup so badly, it's obviously not a playful bite, there is something wrong with the bigger dog. get it checked out. Take the pup to vet anyway. she will need antibiotics, orally or by injection. do not try to treat the pup yourself!

hese thing happen. Please don't be mad at her doggie friend.
Since she was bit today, the swelling and heat is probably just a local reaction to the bite. It should be better tomorrow.
If the bite is small, just keep it clean and keep an eye on it. It should heal up on its own. If it gets worse or starts to look infected go to your regular vet.
If you live in an area that has rabies, does she and her playmate have a current rabies vaccine? If the dogs aren't immunized and should be, keep an eye on them for the next month or so to to be sure they are ok.

If the bite cut through your puppy's skin and the area is swollen and hot, it may be developing an infection, in which case I would take her to the vet ASAP for some antibiotics. Hope she is okay!
