You should never cut their whiskers, as they are their sensors. Sometimes they will fall out but are always replaced by a new one.

Cat's whiskers should not be shortened. They alert a cat to all sorts of necessary things for survival. They are not ornamental. They are connected to the central nervous system and cats use them to determine the environment around them. Cutting them can cause your cat discomfort.
I have been told that the cat's whiskers allow a cat to know how thick his body is. If his head, with whiskers full extended, can fit through an opening, the rest of him can do.
So, leave your cats' whiskers alone.

Yes it's wrong!!
Cat's whiskers are there for a reason - they grow out to match the width of their bodies. This is why you sometimes see cats that have suddenly lost a lost of weight with seemingly HUGE whiskers - you can see how big the cat used to be.
Cats whiskers have a function - they have nerves in them and are used to tell a cat what spaces it can fit it's body through. They need them, don't cut them off!
What do you mean 'too long' anyway? What possible problems could long whiskers cause?!

Never shorten a cat`s whiskers, they r used as sensors, supposedly to give the cat the sense of width as to places the rest of his body can pass thru without getting stuck. As u know, cats like to explore.

Why the he** would you want to do that? There's no such thing as too long, unless your cat is a total freak and he's tripping over them!
Whiskers are extremely important to a cat's sense of space, for navigation, etc. Don't touch them!
It's true that whisker length varies from cat to cat. Some have very short ones compared to their size, others seem to go on forever. Just accept them for a normal part of your cat & move on.

HELL YES!!!!.a Cats whiskers grow in proportion to its body size, which gives it the ability to detect/sense the little crawl spaces which it can go to.Cutting or trimming his/her whiskers would be extremely cruel because when a cat chases something,or is curious(we all know that),the cat may think it can fit into a space or pipe. The whole idea of whiskers on a cat is to allow it to figure out"Will I fit in here or not?".Taking away that ability from a cat will surely get him/her stuck. Please think before attempting anything that stupid!!!!!.

Yes! Whiskers don't get "too long". They are feelers for your cat. Supposedly, they help the cat know how tight of a space it can squeeze through. If you snip the kitty's whiskers, she'll be very sad and disoriented.

Too long compared to what? There is no such thing as whiskers that are "too long". The cat doesn't mind, so why should you? One of the most beautiful things about a cat are its whiskers.

Whiskers are basically an extension of nerve endings. They are highly sensitive and should NOT be trimmed even a little bit.

Yes, long whiskers also have their place and function - it's the cat that needs them, not you.
