If not, Fantasy

Absolutely not, and I'm an atheist.

History, cultural studies, sociology, classical.... all would be decent categories. As long as it's not in the Natural Sciences section or something similar, I'm fine.

To put the bible next to the Da Vinci Code is an affront to the cultural significance of the bible.

Non-fiction isn't the same as truth. I dare you to find me any book labelled non-fiction that includes the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. That's just not what the term non-fiction means.

I'm less apprehensive about categorizing it as "Adult" as I don't think little kids should be exposed to religion until they are old enough to understand what it might be, and what it might not be.

No, because it's not. Well... whether it is or not isn't the point, I guess... But it's not the intent.

Religion/Humanities. In the same section as the Qur'an and The Ramayana.

I don't see any need to deliberately p*** off Christians by putting it in adult/fiction when, regardless of whether you believe in the spirituality of the text, it undoubtedly has great historical and scholarly significance. So... Humanities is a good place for all canonical religious writing, methinks.

Since this book was written, no one has been able to destroy it and it has all come true except the last chapter. How can it ever be classified as a work of fiction? It is still the best selling book on the market. It is for anyone who searches for the truth.

difficult question.
I think each book in the bible could be included in a different category, some belong to the fiction department - Genesis for instance, some are books with clear religious agenda some are poetry and some are history books

Fiction-Yes. Adult-No. I think children would enjoy the stories too. After all, children love to laugh.
