Yes, and it depends on the source of your income and your filing status.

If you have self-employment or 1099 income of $400 or more, you have to file.

If you can be claimed as a dependent, you have to file if your income is $5150 or more.

If you are single, but can't be claimed as a dependent, you have to file if your income is $8450 or more.

Other filing statuses have other limits, and the limits are a little higher if you're age 65 or over.

These limits are for tax year 2006 - except for self-employment, the limits increase a little every year.

Even if you might not have to pay any taxes, but very likely will.

No, as soon as you start officially working you have to at least file for taxes. Most of the time you will get msot of it back in low-paying jobs (Such as a teenagers summer job). And it depends on your situation when your goingto have to start counting out the bills.
