Maybe you should research things before you start spouting s*** about it on the Internet! Just so you know Jesus didn't write a "magic book" his followers did. There are many beliefs in the western world that aren't Christian. And the "cracker that turns into flesh" is a symbol of accepting that someone died for every little sin and every huge sin you have committed in your life, so that you could join God in an eternal life in heaven when you die, cause without that there is no way you could escape hell. The cracker doesn't turn into flesh! That maybe the dumbest thing I have ever read in my life! Not to mention you completely forgot about the vampirical implications with drinking wine that turns into blood. Aren't you lucky in the "enlightened" western world we have a choice in what we believe and don't believe? otherwise the torch would have been passed to light you up. Have a good day :)

all we believe is that god came to earth 2000 years ago,
yes
born of a virgin,
yes
walked on water,
yes
rose from the dead,
definately
wrote a magic book,
what???
and if you eat a cracker it turns into his flesh and you live forever.
Debatable
oh, and it's OK to kill anyone who doesn't believe that, because god loves america.
Absolutely ridiculous
Are you mad at Christianity and Christians, or just what you are told Christians think/do? The Christianity I was 'born into' (I converted at the age of 15 into a Southern Baptist church, the son of an agnostic and a non-practicing catholic) is one where we go and feed the homeless, help them get back on their feet, visit those in prison, go to different areas to serve, pick up trash in different neighborhoods, look after widows and children, all the while worshiping the God who commanded us to do these things. If this is foolish, then I fool I shall be.
You can assume these 'foolish ideas' will just go away, but it may not be a good one.
Plus, my children will be born in the future, I don't have to wish it. =)
In Love

I am dumbfounded with religion in the modern age. It made sense before science really kicked in, but now, in the new millenia........absurd! I feel that religion has filled a hopeless viod for countless people. It gives peoples life experiences meaning, and value where none was before. I personally am appalled at what many people do because their "HOLY" book (Who really wrote those books anyway?) said so. I also know some religious people that I could trust with anything. It's interesting how some churches are slowly changing their views on science. Their very survival depends on capitulation to the facts. I feel if we are to survive as a species, reason must be accepted. Regardless of my opinion on religion, I think Mother Teresa was one of the best people we had on the planet.

The great thing about our God is that He will forgive your misguided thoughts, grasshopper. Christians don't believe in killing those who don't believe like they do. That's the other guys. You know, the tower topplers? Sure man is fallible, and has messed up in his following God, but that's not God's fault. He's been trying to tell us how sinful we are all along. He sent and sacrificed His only Son so that we could be in heaven with Him. You know better, and if not, I weep for you little brother. Denying God will not make Him go away. Have you ever tried calling on God? If not, how can you criticize Him? Here is a site that you can learn why finding Jesus is the very most important task of your life. I was raised as a Christian. My grandmother took me to church seven days a week. I believed that s>@t with all of my heart. Then, in my teens, I started questioning things. If God is love and love is not jealous, then how can God be a jealous God? Why would all of the people who didn't accept Jesus as their personal savior go to hell? That's not compassion as Christ preached. Then, I started to research other religions. You know what? They ain't half bad! They all want what Christianity wants. So, I stopped thinking that my religion was superior to other religions. I started believing things for myself. Now, I believe what I want to believe and not what someone else tells me to...and I try to raise my children that way. It's hard sometimes when the rest of my family are conservative Christians. They buy Veggie Tales and DC Talk for my kids for their birthdays. I don't tell my children these things are brainwashing tools. I'm going to let them find out for themselves. You see, everyone has a choice. You have to inform yourself. No one else (no mama, no papa) can do it for you. Of course, I'm not threatened with burning at the stake.

They have no proof that they were right, just as you have no proof that any of them were wrong. You're proclaiming that they're "stupid" for their actions, but can you prove to anyone here that they were not the actions of their specified gods?
Atheism is the religion of the 21st century - a blind belief in an idea with no proof to back it up. You blindly believe that all religion is false even though it is technically not possible to prove this – if there is a god, he would have the ability to warp human history and the laws of nature. If you truly want to avoid this mess, become Agnostic - don't believe anything, including Atheism, without proof. I’m not sanctioning religion, but Atheism is the same blind belief without proof. Beliving in it makes you just as "stupid" as those before you.

If we could just wipe out religion from the collective conscious for a hundred or so years, bulldoze all the churches and destroy all the remaining evidence, I think we might have a shot at saving the human race.
Then again, the frightened sheep would probably just invent it all over again and start praying to Paula Abdul, which would be a thousand times worse than what we've got now.

Organized religion is...but spirituality is not. Being spiritullay blind is just as bad as being a fanatic. There is a middle ground that is right. God is not an old man in the sky. God is the source in which all in the universe comes from. God is everything. God is in the space between us. God is in the table in front of you. God is everything and everywhere and everyone. It just happens that I've realised all this through acid. No one knows tru meaning science or organized religion

I have often wondered, that persons who make a boast of professing the Christian religion, namely, love, joy, peace, temperance, and charity to all men, should quarrel with such rancorous animosity, and display daily towards one another such bitter hatred, that this, rather than the virtues they claim, is the readiest criterion of their faith. Matters have long since come to such a pass, that one can only pronounce a man Christian, Turk, Jew, or Heathen, by his general appearance and attire, by his frequenting this or that place of worship, or employing the phraseology of a particular sect—as for manner of life, it is in all cases the same.

wow...you were obviously not brought up christian!
why do people blame all christians for some christians mistakes? not all of us are like that ya know! i am christians and believe that bush's war is very wrong and that he should be locked in a box away from civilization, but i would never condoned killing anyone! i dont believe that the burning of the pagans was in anyway right. - a note on that one ... not all of thiose killed were pagan, some were christians...if someone gets horribly sick with some disease...someone needed to be blamed...because why would god give a disease to their loved ones?- anyway when they sacrificed people? when did this happen? i know they sacrificed animals to Him but were then corrected that God did not want that! have you even read the Bible yet?
i do agree with your last statement "isnt religion stupid" you hit it right on the nose! it is...all we need is faith in our Lord and to love our neighbour. religion is man-made and there is no need to attend church every sunday. the bible says to have fellowship with your brother...not go to church ebvery sunday...just to talk about god and his love with your brothers and sisters (this means everyone not just your family).
dont judge us all based on what a few of us have done!
