Where exactly does it say specificly that 'witches shall die' in the bible? I have heard many things about this, and it confuses me, wasnt it actually demons or something that was to die? Sorry, its been a few years since i was christian, and even then( i was 12-13 at the time) i could not read most of the words in there.

You should not let a sorceress live. Exodus 22:17

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. Leviticus 20:27

"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." (Exodus 22:18)

That pretty much says it all. It's gone into a few more places, with a bit more to it, but the gist of it is, witches were to be put to death.

The Israelites were a paranoid bunch, and the main thrust of their laws were, if it's different, kill it. Some Bible scholars today believe that the "Witches" bit in the OT was a direct attack on an old Goddess worshiping cult in the area, with all members to be killed...however some of the other translations will say "Sorceress", so it could mean exactly what it sounds like...witches.

try reading it again and you may enjoy it. Especially Psalms and Proverbs. Ruth is a story of love. The Song of Solomon is romantic! A lot of good stuff in there, besides stoning witches-- which is not done anymore because now we just want to convert witches. There are no dragons in the Bible. I don't think there are dragons anywhere unless you count Gila Monsters. But there is Goliath, and lions in a den, and a man in hell begging for a drop of water, cool reading.

I couldn't find Witches, but on Sorcerers...

Rev 21:8
"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part [will be] in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Rev 22:14,15
Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

Revelation 22:14-15 Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Jesus is telling us that those who have accepted Him and been cleansed or forgiven are blessed and may enter Heaven. Outside of Heaven are the people who are sinners they are the ones who practice magic arts (witches) fornicators (sex outside of marriage), murders, people who worship other gods and false religions. These people will not inherit eternal life.

Jesus invites you to come to Him in verse 17. He says the spirit and the bride say come. So not only Jesus but, all of the other Christians (the bride of Christ) on this site would love to welcome you back to Jesus. Please come!

Please learn to live as a free soul and choose your path in life with out any fear as to what the bible says. We are now moving into a new age where free will is the key note of the time.If any christian trys to tell you how to live then tell them to keep their hypocritical religion to themselves. The bible is just full of contradiction as to the workings of magic and I am an occultist and I know what I am talking about. Christianity is only one path and has not been around that long so they must watch and learn the ways of life.

i might want to hardly call it a sin, yet why do you imagine God couldn't be a guy? The Bible teaches that we are created in His image, and if we've ten fingers and ft and each little thing else that is going with it, why does no longer He? per chance he's no longer extremely a guy like us. we've obstacles that He would not, and he's thus far previous us that to judge Him to those at our element seems ludicrous. nevertheless, he's contained in the variety of a guy. as well, i have not in any respect understood why some human beings trust that God is a few variety of cloud or imprecise, shapeless spirit. i do not get that, because how can a cloud be the daddy of our spirits? children grow to be like their mom and dad, and that i will't see any human beings growing to be little mini-clouds, are you able to? We weren't made by some formless entity out in area. We were made by a being who appears like us and knows the flair we've. We were made by a being who knew what it feels desire to face by the sea or to look on the daylight, who knows the way it feels to be tempted by sin or be weighed down by sorrow. That imprecise spirit in basic terms won't be able to. God received't be extremely like us, yet that does no longer recommend he's thoroughly diverse, both.

Yes, it says that a witch will die. I think because its like how anyone will die if they live in sin, by the sheer nature of sin.. like, if you walk through a sinking mud-hole waist high you will get dirty. If you live in sin... it'll kill you. Are you not a christian anymore?! Child, come back to your Father!! He's waiting for you!! Jesus loves you, my sister....

Gee that sounds really nice. What ever happened to stoning anyway? According to the bible shouldn't we be stoning gays and adulterous women? How about chopping the hands off of thieves?

Am I ever glad I live in a secular society that isn't burdened with this type of ethic!
