For example, "Hey, that looks like Brad Jonas pushing that shopping cart over there. I guess winning the, 'Most Likely to Succeed,' award isn't such a great barometer of future success after all."

Greetings.
To be honest I've more in my life than to think petty mean spirited things like that and you should too. However on saying that I can understand how someone you had issues with especially the All American football stud whatever, who always got the girls and seemed to get by on his looks and popularity, would get to you.Remember this those guys don't have it easy, they have a reputation to uphold and a high standard to achieve because everyone expects so much of them. Lesser beings don't have that. They aren't as popular etc so they have to cultivate, whit, their intelligence character etc. to achieve their goals. High school can be a nightmare for them but the blessing in discuise is They learn to cope with, adversity, other people and in doing so tend to achieve in the workplace if they've learned from the experience and used it. The Popular Guy who had it so smooth going through school doesn't always fair as well. They didn't have to develope any other characteristics or depth of purpose just be the Most Likely. Infact sometimes their Golden years were school, when they had the accolades. When that's gone, they need to rely on themselves, their adult lives are less than perfect. So I know who I'd rather be..

Its funny that I came upon this question. A few years back the most beautiful and deserving girl won prom queen at my high school and I was so happy for her, but last year I found out her house burned to the ground and she was homeless for 6 months before someone offered to help. At my school people won king and queen of prom by actually being good people.

By the way, I dont think you are a bad person for asking this question. I think you believe in karma. So the people that said that its awful you asked this just arent willing to admit they have thought the same thing.

Well, yes, I often wonder what the classmates I didn't like are up to...

I don't imagine them homeless, rather I imagine them working some low-paying job and getting drunk on the weekends with their mates, going nowhere fast. Not because I think they necessarily deserve it, but just as a natural consequence of their lack of diligence and the unpleasant behaviour/attitudes they cultivated in high school.

I always picture the people who gave me a hard time in school as doing badley, yes. Kinda gives me a feeling of what karma SHOULD be! The guy I had a crush on for most of high school now has a huge bald spot! The girl that felt me up cuz she thought i stuffed my bra(when I didn't) would somehow be humiliated for stuffing hers! My luck is, she is probably stuffing her bra because she has breast cancer! I know that we wish the people who bullied us in school get it back tenfold, just for making us feel stupid, but sometimes, they actually get it. Sometimes we hear of it, and sometimes it's bad. Sometimes, it's thier spouses that go off to war and get killed, I never wanted that.
I guess what I am trying to say is, be careful what you wish for when you are young.

Nope, I tend to imagine different fates for the people I didn't like, frequently something involving seven kids with ADHD, a bad case of VD and a job at the sewage-treatment facility.

The homeless I have worked with are pretty secure in themselves. They have chosen their lifestyle. They may blow off steam about others, but you would be surprised how many doctors, lawyers, and university grads are on 'skid row'.

no. actually I see them as someone's child who got lost somewhere in life. That person's mama loved them, and used to sing them lullabies.
