If you say that you don't see each other often, that may be part of the problem. Are these fights over IM or the phone? It takes MUCH longer to work out conflicts over the phone because you can't give them a hug, or see their expression. It takes FOREVER over IM because all you have is their thoughts, which can be interpreted into bad or good ways, with no voice or anything to make it more real. And not seeing each other often can put strain on those kinds of situations.

Also, I would define if they are actually fights or disagreements (yes, there is a difference) a disagreement is something constructive, fighting is destructive. A disagreement involves alot of talking, some conflict, but with some kind of resolution and NO intentional hurting of either person's feelings. A fight can include things from yelling, to accusations to intentionally hurting each other, with no growth at the end at all. Fighting should happen as seldom as possible (preferably never) but disagreements are healthy and necessary to have a normal and growing relationship.

A good trick to use to keep each other remembering what's really important (that you care about each other) is to find something to say when you feel that your wants or needs are being trampled on. It can be anything, like "remember how much i care about you?" it sounds stupid, but it works.

Lastly, if you guys really love each other, the quickest way to solve a fight is to look at it through the other person's perspective and ask, "What will make them happy?" Sometimes, it's really okay to give in (so long as it's not compromising your beliefs or self) so that someone else can be happy. Compromise shouldn't be two people wanting something and being "okay" with something in the middle; A good compromise is two people trying to give the other what will make them happy and finding a happy middle ground.

Good luck!

Depends on WHAT your fighting about. If it's the same thing, perhaps you need to resolve the issue. If you fight over many things, then perhaps it's simply a matter of communication and compromise.

its realy hard to say what needs to be done..... there has to be a problem some where if you are fighting all the time...... fighting is NOT a good thing..... it may be something that is unrelated to the relationship...... family problems ?? it is NOT healthy for couples to fight.... I see it all the time between my sons and g/fs...... it worries me..... young ppl need to learn how to fight fair..... such as NOT yelling or cusing or accusing or blaming....... sit down and talk this out...... stay calm and rationale........ God bless
