There are ALOT of products that you can use. If you just got a cut you might want to use "let's jam". It smells really good and makes your hair shiny. It also has a pretty good hold. If its been a while since you got a cut it would be best to get some pomade to hold your hair down. There are many types of pomades but these are what I recommend:

shorter hair: "Sportin Waves" (in a black can usually be found just about anywhere but family dollar is guaranteed to have it)

medium length hair:"Sportin Waves"(in a gold can also found just about anywhere)

longer hair: "Dax"(in a red can found in a lot of places but walmart is guaranteed to carry it)

You might want to put a warm damp towel over your hair after putting in the pomades. It will loosen it up some so it will be easier to work with.

Wave grease/pomades do not give you waves. The only thing that will make your hair wave up is brushing a lot. A wave is just a laid down curl so when you brush you change the texture of your hair and you train it to grow down. Pomades just help to make your waves look better by weighing down your hair. Believe me. I used to have really nappy bad hair but now im spinnin like crazy and it's all due to brushing my hair 45-60 minutes a day. If you want your waves to spin around your whole head and have them connected so that they look like circles brush starting from the crown making your way towards the hairline. The sides should be brushed in a slant. Using moisturizers also helps. Be sure to put a doo-rag on after putting in products and before you sleep to protect your pattern. There are ALOT of waving methods and products out there and you will find the very best of them on this site....http://360waves.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3875

Alicia Key's hair isn't a weave!,it's her real hair! She has it plated allot especially when she came on the scene with her music, and i suppose that was her trade-mark,but it is her 's! She may add extension's at times, but 90% of it is her's,as it's very long and beuatiful! Of cause Beyonce wear's weaves,it probably best cause it protect's her real hair from all the syling she has done to it. She has very long hair to....mid-back lengh and it's very afro, but lovely! Diania Ross, Macy Gray,Lauren Hill have there hair in it's naturel state....and it's all real!
