Not quite...lol
I choose atheism because it actually makes sense. I love my parents and would not be here if not for them.
I too, used to think there was something wrong with people who did not believe as I did, as I was raised christian.
I was just not given the full scope of the situation.
I have concluded, for myself (keyword being MYSELF) that there is no god.
The only reason I see for someone to believe in any is because they were never secure in themselves to question what they have been told. Those who believe there is a god out there are afraid to even hint that they have doubts no matter what life brings them.
For myself, I looked back on my life and realized that all the things I loved about my religion could have been acomplished in other ways: I loved going to church singing, jumping around and being told that I was loved no matter what I would do. All kids like to jump around and sing, so this is not mystery. I could have gone to camp for fat kids and been told the same thing...sorry for the comparison, but that is how I feel.
All things I have been told were acts of god...storms, healing, etc. May well be the effects of our environment. It is known that certain elements are required for different storms...tornados need specific warm and cold to combine, not god. Hurricanes need specific pre requisites as well.
Then I would ask you: Why is the central strip through U.S considered "tornado alley"...the answer is scientific. These states/ parts of them are prime examples of the normal weather that occurs in the area.
Anyways, it all comes down to the fact that science can "show" us the reasons for many, or rather all things in life. NOTHING can prove that anything is because of a god.
Thanks for your time.

I think that would be Christian's thought rather then Atheist's thought ......
Atheist means a person who does not believe in god and not a person who does not believe a person is born because of parents.
There was a christian who had actually asked this question "If there is no god, where do you come from?.... Your parent does not count because it would be cheating" and all the christians who answered the questions basically agrees with the statement, but it is the atheists who objected to such degrading words about their parents.

Of course not! You can see your parents, can't you? Most likely there are photos of you as a baby and a child with your parents. Even if you were adopted, you can locate your birth parents with perseverance. God, conversely, is invisible, therefore more difficult to accept as a viable being. Atheists have considered the possibility that the condition of god's invisibility is due to the probability that he is nonexistent and have reached the conclusion which to them is logical that the possibility is very likely the reality.

*snicker* oh I love you xians. The silly things you say. I guess if you used your own logic on yourselves you would come up with a dad for god. But then doesn't that dad need a dad? And what about that? Does god have grandparents? Would that be a god-god? Well, I'll run out of space if I go back a few hundred generations, wouldn't I?

Oh this is the worst and weakest attack on Atheism I have ever seen. Parents are not invisible and they don't live in the sky. I'll just stop there.

That's probably one of the strangest things I've ever heard. What atheist anywhere asserts that human kind came about as "a product of it's own will"?

No, Atheism is like saying, "There is no such thing as gods, my parents created me by having sex, the same way every other animal is created."

No, Atheism is like saying, "Based upon all of the evidence that has been gathered so far, sound judgment, and repeatable experimentation, I am."

Who give birth to you?
Who fork out their money for their child?
Who work so hard to provide the best for you?
your parents.
