Most good yoga studios offer (often free) introductory classes to yoga. Take one of those - usually lasts 1-2 hrs. and that will get you started with the basics. Breathing is very important in yoga - so definitely get that one down. congrats for willing to take on something new. Research the yoga places near you and see if you can sign up for an introductory workshop or try out a very beginner class first. I do not suggest Bikram initially. This can be very challenging, as it involves heating the room, so that the body produces a lot of sweat, and it can be overwhelming for the first attempt at yoga. Good Luck!

there are 2 ways.
one. join yoga classes. try to find out where they are organised in your city. there are even non profit organisations that run such classes.
two. try to find personal yoga trainer.
some people may suggest you tht u can read book or watch TV etc. Pls remember that yoga cannot be learnt that way. you must learn it under supervision. DIY can injure you. it'll be more harmful than beneficial. once you learn yoga for 3-6 months you can then do it on your own.
Yoga involves some complex movement that cannot be learnt by oneself.

Never ever try without a Guru / Master.
Books cannot know you. It is a generic one. Every human beings differ from their anatomy, their mind & thoughts, etc. Master only can identify that and recommend the dosage to be given to you.
All the best

I'm doing it. its better if you get really limber first. stretch every day until you feel comfortable doing poses. i find having a book or a video better than going to the classes. the videos are fast pace. so starting with the book would be a good idea and than the video
