because the oil filter is proably on the botom so it would just spit out the bottom but if you drove around for 2 hours without an oil filter you would have no oil in the engine and im suprized your motor didnt blow up. I dont know how the people who did the oil change didnt see the oil shooting out when started. Im assuming your talking about the oil fill cap though. If the oil fill cap was off it may not splater but it depends on the vehicle.

I didn't put the oil cap on my corolla, and some oil was splattered. Thank goodness for the plastic hood over the engine.

The oil is on the road that you just went down and after 15 min at most your motor would be toast are sure it was not the oil cap.not the oil filter.

i own a repair shop and if that happened to you, your the first person it has ever happened to if it doesn't have an oil filter on it,it will pump all the oil out of it,in less than 2 minutes,so its almost impossible, right now you would have a blown engine because of this in less than 5 minutes the engine would be junk, good luck .

check the oil level. if it still has oil your allright most likely the baffle plate under the oil cap kept it from splatering allover .either way top off the oil and return to the dealer ship to get the cap replaced for free and to make acomplaint record in case there is trouble.

Engine oil will spatter with no oil cap and no oil filter. Something in your story is missing.
