there is this guy at work , he doesn't care for anyone, well he tends to be nice one minute and the next minute ,he is rude and jokes at people's exepnses sometimes, i've been a target and i dont know if i should be nice to him or just comepetely mean.he just ended his engagement and he's been more rude than ever

he harassed my firend and she told the managers and after he had the meeting with the managers, he went up to her and asked her"you think running to the managers is going to stop me", i dont think he's scared of anything, he is a former marine, he's 25 and i think that's why he 's aggressive

No, Marines are trained to be confident not aggressive. There is a difference. I think the person you are talking about is just your typical ******.

I spent six years in the Corps, and, while I ran across people like the one you describe, the majority of people (Marines) are not this way. In fact, I have met just as many jerks in the civilian world if not more.

You should be very careful about judging people based on things like the fact that they spent time in the Marine Corps. Makes you look just as bad as them.

The fact that he was formerly in the Marine corps probably ( unless he did a tour in Iraq and saw or experience something horrific perhaps PTSD)has little to do with his attitude. I wouldn't be surprised if he was aggressive before entering the Marine Corps. My husband is an active duty Marine. He's pretty nice and easy going. Don't let the personification of Marines on the television and in movies fool you. They are regular (other than being courageous) guys and gals that are trained to do extraordinary things. They are not trained to be JERKS!!!!

He could have a psychological problem and may need professional help. I suggest you avoid him and try to stay on his good side. Marines, like other military personnel are trained to kill with everything on the evolutionary scale from bare hands to improvised weapons like rocks, sticks, shoelaces, etc and of course firearms so they can be extremely dangerous if provoked. Most soldiers and police officers are trained to be the classic "passive-aggressive" personality type. That means they are kind and polite to children, little old ladies and damsels in distress, but get very very nasty to criminals, the enemy and assorted low life who break the laws of the land.

I live in a military town. We've got Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Marines tend to be a little jerky. I met a retired Marine who said that the goal of the Marines is to break/tear you down and rebuild you into a soldier (which suggests a lack of humanity)...oh well, use caution with the guy. I would avoid him personally.

His behavior would NOT be endorsed by the Marine Corps. The guy sounds like a jerk... not a Marine!

A jerk is a jerk no matter what so he was probably that way before he even went into the Marines,if he ever was a marine.

That is not a Marine. Marines are the best friends you can have. I bet this guy is just a wanna-be.

The fact that he is a Marine has nothing to do with the fact that he is an ***. I would be surprised to hear that he was honorably discharged.
