Where do you live? Most of the larger grocery stores in the Boston area have a section for ethnic foods, including Irish. I'm not sure where you would find Irish bread or scones except perhaps somewhere in Jamaica Plain or South Boston.

That gives me an idea! Just get regular plain or raisin scones from the bakery department and call them Irish. Many stores have Irish tea -- Bewley or Tinings (sp?). Then you could serve tea and scones.

Bon appetit!

Some regular stores that have better bakeries may have Irish Soda Bread which is basically a very dense raisin bread. Ireland is known for its history of potato farming so I'm sure that you could buy some premade mashed potatoes and pass that off as Irish food. You could look in the cereal section and see if any Irish oats are available, also called steel cut oats. Mix them in with some flavored yogurt and let sit overnight. This will make the oats tender. Sorry, that's all I can think of that may be available in any general grocery store. I have several recipes, but looks like you're in too much of a hurry for that. Good luck with your project!
