I totally agree. You have to give to get anywhere in the world except the U.S.A.
I also disagree with them changing the term from "Public Assistance" to "Welfare" to make it sound politically correct.
I feel it should be just what it was called. Assistance. NOT to support non working, non willing human puppy mills that crank out kids just to make the rent for the rest of their lives.
It should be assistance. Something to suppliment people UNTIL they can get a job. I also think that your assistance should be terminated after a span of six months UNLESS YOU GET A JOB and it doesnt matter if your flipping burgers or landed a C.E.O. position for Chrysler Corp. After that, it would be pro-rated such as with the subsidised H.U.D. housing.
I too am tired of paying for someone to drive a new car, have rent paid for free, free food and school supplies when I cant even afford a vacation after 18 years of government work.

Why is everyone blaming the Mexicans for our problems? If by chance there are illegals who are receiving welfare, which I doubt. Who do you think offered that illegal the job in the first place? When you find a great deal do you not tell your friends and family about the deal so they can get in on it? This is not an illegals problem, this is our problem. We more or less invited them in by hiring them. You speak of parasites, sounds like you are not much better, and if you an American do not want them here then why do we as Americans keep hiring them? I know you are going to say they work for cheap labor, but remember most of the people in Mexico only make around 35.00 a week. Would you not tell your friends and family about this deal. Stop blaming the Mexican people and start blaming the people that needs to take the blame and the responsibility........That would be the government, the employers, and the American people.

Ok... let's clarify some things first. I agree that illegal immigrants should not be rewarded with citizenship or green cards for breaking the laws. 2. However... most illegal immigrants work on areas where Americans wouldn't work (cleaning up houses, in agriculture, etc). And if you know a bit about economics and labor markets, immigration can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the labor market balance at the time of immigration, and the level of education of the nationals and immigrants. 4. Sad to say, but many Americans are also a big burden on the welfare system, so it's not only an immigrant issue. 5. I agree that they shouldn't use fake social security cards or stuff like that, that can be harmful. But let's try to be objective when we analyze these issues and back our statments with facts and not opinions.

I agree that illegals shouldn't be getting social services. For purely practical reasons (public health) I'd grand some exception regarding health care.
But to be perfectly blunt, we wouldn't have the problem if idiots would quit blocking real immigration reform. Most of these people aren't "criminals" as such--they simply want to make a better life for themselves. The fact that they are here illegally is a public policy failure. Fixing it is going to require a guest worker program--which, BTW, should NOT include the access to social services citizens have--only such limited access as is appropriate AND justified by the taxes they pay.
But--again for purely practical reasons, its going to have to include some form of amnesty/inclusion in the guest worker program. NOTE--I did NOT say an automatic "path to citizenship." Anyone on a guest worker program shouuld not be on such a path--and should have to be on the guest worker program for some period of time (say,2 years) before they can apply to begin the process of becoming a citizen.
And I, fo rone, am sick and tired of the idiots who keep squawking "butthey broke the LAW!" Unless these jerks have never so much as run a stop sign, they need to shup up about what amounts in reality to a pecadillo.

We have natural born citizens and immigrants( that have came here in the correct way) who have worked hard and paid their dues and have fallen on hard times who really need the assistance but are unable to get it because the illegals are sucking off the system.
This is a slap in the face to our hard working citizens.

I am sick of welfare for those who can work but are lazy. Stop giving out money to anyone capable of working, and you solve two problems. More money for those who need it, and less of a need for illegals to do the work no one wants to do. ( If you are hungry, you will do a lot of things )
Voting Democratic and then begging should not be the American Way.

Absolutely nothing. I would think the illegal criminal aliens would not qualify for aid, but they get it faster than the legal citizens of this great Country ever could. And they don't even have to ask for it in English!!!

I am sorry to hear you are sick!
Illegals can't collect welfare benefits. They have to show an original Birth certificate or their papers so I am really confused as to why you are feeling so badly.
When are you going to get sick about the sweat shops that employ them under non-bid government contracts?
I guess voting Republican, running up a 3 1/2 TRILLION dollar debt, cut taxes for the rich and money for military hospitals, and putting about every company on the planet on corporate welfare is the Republican way!
Those of you that work for them receive far more in welfare benefits than those you accuse the poor of taking! You are also the biggest welfare cheats. Ask Boeing!

That is why illegal aliens want citizenship. They want more freebies.
In 1999,
700,000 legal immigrants recieved food stamps. If the guest worker bill passes then the number will be over 10 million.

Where does it say on the stone tablet in the sky that we have to support anyone other than who we want to support? I don't want to pay for illegals, just like I don't want to pay for you. I'd rather have a loose immigration policy and no social welfare than a closed immigration policy and all the social welfare citizens want.
Illegal aliens tend to work and they work for way less than you do. Many eastern Europeans come over legally and collect SSI. I'm not saying all illegal aliens work, but you can see them lined up in the morning waiting to get any work they can. You can't even get your stereotypes right.
