daryl disler in addison is really good. not quite in fort worth but probably worth the 30 minute drive. all of the artists at cat tattoo are really talented and i plan on driving over when i start my next piece (a three hour drive for me)

Hi,
Choosing an artist to do a portrait is a very important decision. I would not necessary limit my search to fort worth, texas. Find an artist who does portraits that you like. There are a hand full of portrait artists that are exceptional such as
Bob Tyrell, Shane O'neill and Tom Renshaw. Compare their portraits to other artists and you will see what I mean. Portrait tattoos are not cheap. Artist usually charge by the hour and these type of tattoos typically take 6-8 hours or more depending on the level of detail. Expect to pay $600-$1000 for one of these top level artists, whatever you do don't haggle over the price. Alot of these guys travel around and do work at tattoo conventions. Once you settle on an artist find out if/when they are coming to a city near you. When I had my son's portrait done, I traveled about 200 miles so that Shane O'neill could do the work. In my opinion, his work is so good I'd travel across the country to get a tattoo from him. To me a tattoo is an investment and nothing looks worse than a portrait that does not look like the intended subject. Hope this helps.

Hey! I'm from Fort Worth too :-)
I have friends who won't go anywhere but this place on N Main Street - Can't remember the name but it is very bright clean and nice - you can't miss it. In the section between Joe T's and Northside Dr on the south side of Main St. Hope you can find it - they are good.
