I believe that is what the anti-christ will do when he comes to power. One world order or religion.

no i don't believe world religions will overcome their diff. anytime soon. By a study of the book of Revelation and what the different horseman and the beasts symbolize, Babylon the Great is the world empire of false religion. Soon the God will put it into the hearts of the government rulers to bring an end to religion altogether. Alot of religions seem to have just gone so far away from what God's word is really about, and its all political and all about money, and it's just discouraging because greed and politics are things that Jesus and his father told us to stay away from, "you must be no part of the world" means to avoid those materialistic attitudes.
but you are right there is something more out there, the realization that whether we do something or nothing at all, God "isn't slow respecting his promise" (and that's to fulfill his original purpose for the earth, Gen 3:15) and wants us to live on earth, in a paradise, forever, and not get sick and old and deal with all the discouragement. But uniting and all believing in the same thing and working towards the same thing is what is going to bring peace on the earth. Man has failed, God is the only one who can do that.
Good question, thanks!

I think the world will change but not until 2012.
Sounds like you are pretty enlightened. Yes I think that there will be one world religion. I think that all will work for the best but there is going to be something big happen, be it a Photon energy burst that changes everyone or Christ coming back and every persons knee will bowl because we see the same thing. Don't laugh about aliens unless you know for sure they are not out there. I have seen three flying in formation and changing formation within 5 seconds and going beyond view. It was reported in three counties and the state police in my state reported them. There is a spiritual war waging as well so all those radicals may be influenced by the dark side. Rev. TomCat

As matters stand,it would be impossible to achieve a global syncretic religion if that is your ideal. However,Christianity and Islam are readily tandemized and as long as they remain independent of each in terms of religious practice the theological elements of discord can in my opinion be worked out. Christianity is the religion of the West,Islam that of the East. There will never be a way to create a religion suited for all cultures, but the present level of balkanization can be overcome,at the same time avoiding a lack of choice or going toward religious globalisation.

Do I think religions will overcome their differences any time soon? They have not done so in all the eons they have existed, and more crop up all the time that are often equally (if not more) intolerant than many of those that already exist...
I don't see what you suggest occuring ever...too many people hold too fast to what they believe, and will not accept that someone else may also be correct...
I'm agnostic, so I think you're all wrong...lol! (but I respect your right to believe as ya choose, as long as it harms no one).

No.
Jesus said that He had not come to bring peace but division. I am going to have to disagree with on one thing. When you said that we all have different ways to God. "No one comes to the Father but by me." that is what Jesus said and that is what i believe. If all the people went to heaven, even the ones who are not saved then what is to stop heaven from being like earth? It in general makes no sense for all to have the same god(s) which mean that one is true. And that my friend is up to you.

I also was raised and am a practicing Catholic. It would be a wonderful thing if everyone could get along. We and I mean the entire human race are not there yet. Someday maybe but not today....
Peace be with you.

As wonderful as that sounds, speaking in terms of reality, i'm afraid that's not going to happen. At least not during our life time. Not since the beginning of time have people been able to agree on their religious beliefs.

Yes, I believe so but there will be a great turbulence first before the society deeply realize of what we are doing is not working, change course and shift in consciousness.

Did you ever hear Woody Allen's famous stand-up routine with the gag about his cousin who thought he was a chicken, he told his shrink, and the man said bring him in, and I'll fix him up in no time, Woody replies, "I'd like to, but we need the eggs"
All these religions have no interest in resolving their minor ecumenical differences because it all comes down to their source of income, separately, in short, they need the eggs.

I would hope so. But I really don't thinks so. We as humans have to learn a lot more tolerence. See what I've seen written on this site, I don't think it's happening any time soon.
