Since i began dating 5 yrs ago, I've had 4 boyfriends in all, but they were white, except one (hispanic). I haven't been really attracted to any black men and I've been told that that's wrong. I've been called racist toward my own color becuz i choose not to date within my race. Is it really wrong for me to be like this?

Why should it be wrong? Different person, different interests...

Of course it's not wrong, why would you even ask that? I've never dated a black girl, but I would, if the attraction was ever there, and reciprocated by her. I've dated Hispanic girls though. I think it's purely a matter of physical attraction, and has nothing to do with racism. A person cannot help who they are attracted to: it just happens. Anyone who comments negatively on how you only date white, or Hispanic, or whatever, is the one who is racist, not you. Be happy with who you are, and don't worry about what others say.

You are not wrong. As long as you are comfortable with who you date then don't worry about what other people think. In the end, you have to do what makes you happy.
I am a white female and I only date black men. I have heard the racial comment too. Don't let it get to you. Live your life right and be nice to others. Just because you "don't" date outside those races doesn't mean you are a bad person or that you are prejudice. Best wishes sweetheart. You are still young, and if this is the worst thing you have to worry about in your adult life then you will be just fine!

It kinda is really wrong if you choose not date guys of your own race. I know some girls who are like that. But theres nothing wrong if you just havent met the right guy who happens to be of the same race as you and the guy you previously dated happen to white white or hispanic. One day you will find a black man who you find attractive. REgardless, so long as you dont admit that you exclusively only want to date white and hispanic, then you are just fine...THose who wont date a certain race are no racist, just really SHALLOW....

No, it's not wrong, unless you do it on purpose with the idea that other men are "better" than black men. If you do think that black men are lesser than others, then that would be racist I think. I know that my taste runs the whole globe, so I'm kinda simlar to you I guess. My current interest is a fione asian boy who took me by surprise b/c I've never been "into" asian guys that much before. Anyway, love is so underrated in this whole interracial thing. Make sure you love who loves you...and watch out for men who think you're "exotic" and only want sex from a black girl. Ignore the haters. The older you get, you might change your reaction to race, but as it is now, do you!

no it's not. iam a 19 year old black female i've only had 1 black boyfriend all the rest have been white. i have noticed that i just have a thing for white guys. just bc you're of a different color and you find yourself not likeing the same color as you doesnt matter and dont let anyone tell you different, you cant help who you like/love or what attracts you. that's what makes you, YOU! and always remember that! I have been called racist too bc i dont really look at black guys. and i just ignore it and tell myself my heart matters not what ppl say or think. i have lived by that for as long as i can remember. dont let it bring you down. and if you have to, dont put yourself around those kind of ppl, it sucks when it's maybe your family or friends but it's sad that ppl will judge you bc of that. best of luck to you, so far my life with my lovely white!! lol boyfriend of almost 3 years has been great!

its wrong for people to say some thing like that because a person should look beyond skin color when it comes to judging some ones character. If your friends and family would get to know the person you're dating they might like him. If it was truly a color blind world it wouldn't matter what color your boyfriend is. I think its just a personal preference. Maybe you will find a nice guy within your race, but not right now.

No it's not. It's wrong for them to be calling you raises because you are only interested in white and Hispanic guys. But, you never know as you continue to go out with guys then you might like a black guy.

Attraction is a very personal thing. There's nothing right or wrong about dating. Just because you date outside your race, it doesn't mean you're a racist. You can date any man you'd like, regardliess of his color. Go out and have fun!!

It's only wrong if you think it is. It's up to you. You like what and who YOU like. Don't let anyone or "society" decide who you should be attracted to. Just don't be shallow or racist about it.

Also understand that there will be people on all sides who'll try to make a call on your judgment. Some people have nothing better to do than try to live other people's lives for them. It's sad but true. Just be careful. And stop advertising your preferences. That's not necessary.
