The belief in a God can be separated from the ideologies of man's created bibles. It has always amazed me when a person accept the idea there is a God they automatically succumb to religion. I think the belief in a God doesn't validate religion as absolute truth and religion does not prove there is a God.

Even if we have total confirmation of a God you will still have to convince me the bibles in the world of a God. After all the men wrote the bibles. I am sorry but the bibles of the major religions doesn't read like an intelligent being which is the greatest argument against them.

The bottom line you can have the belief in and God and still pursue knowledge of all types. Once you start believing in the bibles of the major religions in this world this is where your intelligence ends. Through indoctrination the religious become desensitized to the evils of the bible and defend the same with stupidity.

I believe in Sagas. I know there is some truth to the "mythology" of ancient times and places, else why do we see the same patterns?

I believe in Tyr, Odin, Thor and Frey.

I especially believe in them on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Isn't funny that as relatively-popular monotheists this culture still celebrates these great gods as well?

You can have that opinion if you want, and you didn't need me to give that to you.

But you like rational thought, right? I mean, you speak of intelligence, after all.

Who will you allow to pen the Bible? God Himself? Angels from heaven? Would that make you believe it? I really don't think that you would give it any more credit if we Christians were to say so.

So where does that leave us? Oh yeah. Something as mundane as a man wrote the Bible. Whoopty do! Now we've done it! We have admitted men wrote the Bible. It just so happens that men wrote everything here on Earth. Unless they programmed a computer to write something, but they didn't have that kind of thing back then, apparently.

So since man is the only one who wrote the Bible, it can't be true? Is that really rational thinking? I mean, who would have to write it if it wasn't man? Purple alligators?

So I leave you with this final thought:
You won't understand the Bible unless God's Spirit helps you. You might read and understand the claimed history therein, the basic form of the sentences, maybe even the most dated languages used if ou are into that. But what you won't understand is the weight that each verse carries. What to value in the verses in the Bible, unless you have the Holy Spirit guiding you to it. otherwise you will think that "Through indoctrination the religious become desensitized to the evils of the bible and defend the same with stupidity."

'nuff said!

The Bible was written by man but inspired by God. As God chose people who were not always educated, and then it has been translated several time and might lead to some errors, but what has been written is truth and meant to explain how God was working in the lives of His people and to show us the evil that was happening, He also wanted to educate the those who would read it. It is not evil and the evil that is written about is because of poor choices of those who turned their back on God

The word of God does not reflect a religion, but the truth from God.
Religion: a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies,

Now, your beliefs are a religion.

If there is a God, and there is. It stands to reason he would make his word available to all. God has made his word available to us and those who believe in his word will be saved by the atonement he provided.

The point to any religion is to get close to G-d.

My people believe that about 3million people saw and heard G-d speak. I would love for you you explain how that was man written.

It is true that when you believe in G-d you can pursue other "knowledge".

Note for you be more clear when you say major religions because each religion is different and believe and say different things.
