Its hard to say how much weight a person should lose because we are all built differently. According to your BMI (body mass index) you are overweight. A healthy weight for your height would be somewhere between 120 & 160 pounds (depending on your build). It is best to go with what makes you feel comfortable.

I read a long time ago that a medium frame woman should weight 100 pounds for the first 5 feet and after that 5 pounds for every inch.
In my case my height is 5'4, I should weigh 120lbs, but since I exercise a lot and do weights, I feel better and look better with 5 to 7 pounds more. For me, 125 to 127lbs, is a better option.
If you stick to this, then you should loose around 32 lbs, so you can reach a body weight of about 140lbs. Again you must consider your body type and your activity level.
I would suggest to take a look at the different link you can find in Yahoo, once you get to Health and Fitness.

you can tell by your bmi (body mass index) I done it for someone 5'7 that weighs 172 and it is 26.9 which is overweight here are the numbers and what they mean Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
your s was 26.9
IN ORDER FOR YOU TO BE AT A NORMAL WEIGHT YOU SHOULD BE 155 (then your bmi would be 24.3) you can check yourself at

hope that helps!

you have some work to do there.. you should probably set your goal to lose 30 lbs. by exerciseing 3-4x weekly, 1/2 hour per day, and eating a well balanced diet, you can lose 1-3 lbs per week safely. this means you would reach your goal by late summer.. avoid crash diets as they never work. if ou are serious and in need of some ideas of what to do, feel free to email me

you can go to google.com and and search for that. i know there are websites that can help you determine the "normal" weight for your height. you could also call your doctor. i'm 5'5 and weigh 130, my doctor told me that was normal so maybe you would have to get down to 140-150?

not that bad but it really depends on your body fat %. for the non-obese individual the BMI is useless as it is not as accurate as the body fat percentage in regards to health and fitness

for optimum health you want to shot for a below average body fat percentage for your age range. the site below can help you to determine how much weight (fat loss) you need to achieve your goals
