right foot for gas and brake. After youve done it for awhile itll come naturally. You use your left foot if you are driving a manual transmission. You use it for the clutch.

I do no know if it is illegal or not, but I do know it is not operating the vehicle properly. Whatever vehicle you are driving is going to be prone to transmission or brake failure doing this. Cars are machinery designed to be used properly. If you do not operate them the way the are designed, you are not operating them right, (or learned how to drive properly) I remember being tempted to use both feet when I was learning. In hindsight, it would be stupid, lazy, and harder to drive if I were to do so today. Let the left foot have a break, the right foot can do all the work easily, after a little practice it will seem natural, and you will be less prone to have an accident or wreck or tear up a perfectly good car.

Driving with two feet is an accident waiting to happen.
Your instructor should have explained that should you be driving with both feet you are in an emergency likely to accelerate rather than brake or Vise versa. It is improper and potentially harmful to drive with both feet except when backing up.
Your reaction time when driving are less than a second in some situations and if improper driving habits are occurring someone could die.
Please ask your instructor for more explanation and details when he lets you know your doing something wrong. That way you will truly understand the whys of your instructions.

It is definitely not liiegal, but you are better off using one foot. When you use 2 feet, you can more easily mistake the break for gas or the other way around. Also if you press 2 at the same time, that may cause truble.
Now, a car with manuall transmission is a different thing. In that case, you hve to use both feet.

It is not illegal, but it is poor practice. Folks who brake with the left foot tend to ride the brakes. This confuses the drivers behind them (brake lights always on) as well as wears out the breaks very quickly.
Most folks who do it claim that they can brake faster but this is not normally true. When you need to brake quickly you need to get off of the gas and on to the brakes. The body can respond faster if all of the commands run through one set of nerves and muscles most of the time. It also avoids the possible reaction of hitting both the gas and the brakes at the same time, typically with catastrophic results.

It is not the proper way, and you will fail a driving test before you get out of the parking lot. 2-footed drivers tend to ride the brakes as well. If you are just learning to drive, you are in no position to determine what is safer, you are supposed to be learning!

If you drive 2-footed, you will also NEVER in your life be able to drive a standard transmission car. Wait until you have been driving for a few years, then learn to drive 2-footed for starting out in icy, snowy, or muddy conditions. It is good for that, but not for everyday driving.
I have driven well over a million miles in standard and auto transmission vehicle, so I have learned a little bit along the way.

There MAY be some states where it's illegal, but personally I've been doing it that way all my life, and I find I can apply the brakes faster with my left foot than the right, because I don't have to lift it up off the go pedal and move it over to the stop pedal. It's always in position to apply the brakes.
(no, I DON'T keep my foot on the brake pedal)

It is not illegal. But it is proven more dengerous. I have a very good friend that thought the same way. Well with a fast reaction your body is likley to hit the wrong pedal and well the ran into the side of a reastraunt. I actually hit the back of my dads truck when i started driving due to using both feet.

Sometimes you have to drive wit two feet. I mean on big hills you have to switch quickly from gas to brake so as not to hit the person behind you, theres a few of those around here. ALso, when you drive a manual transmission vihicle you have to use two feet, one for clutch and one for brake/gas pedals. you'll never get pulled over for it, no one can prove you were using two if it is illegal.

Don't know if it illegal or not but it is dangerous. and causes excessive wear on your drive train.
If you drive with two feet your resting your left foot on your brake pedal and your going to wear your brake out faster.
when you go to accelerate your left foot won't come off brake as fast as your right foot hits gas pedal.
