Can a female in heat be given a rabies vaccination? Any help is appreciated.

yes as long as she is just in heat. If she is pregnant, your vet will make the decision. If the vaccine is a "killed" vaccine, then yes, she can get it if she is pregnant. She CANNOT get the distemper vaccine, bc mostly those are modified live virus,...and you don't want to give live viruses to pregnant females.

The body is already under a little stress with the major hormone thing going on. It is not a good time to vaccinate.

You should call your local vet!...if you dont have one look in the yellow pages! And p;ease get her spayed! It is very beneficial for her! She has less chances of disese! And also it will keep the animals population down!..and lots of lives will be saved!

I am pretty sure that they can be given it. There is no real reason why they couldn't. Call the vet and ask just in case.

Please call and ask your local vet. I personally have not ever heard of any problem with it, but the vet is the best one to ask.
