Hormonal methods would not work well because of interaction with anti rejection medicines and inmunosupressants, you should use barrier methods such as condoms, IUD, cap or diaphragm.

I'm not sure I see why a kidney transplant patient would need any special type of birth control. Is the transplant patient male or female? I wouldn't think the pill would be good for someone with a transplant, but what would be wrong with the guy using a condom or the woman using a diaphragm?

Transplant patients have to be extremely careful with anything they take. This is definately a question for your nephrologist.

i'm assuming that bc pills aren't acceptable due to mineral content... an IUD is a good choice, as it doesn't have any hormones, minerals or whatnot
