Last time I checked a map, the answer was "no."

You are aware that the Soviet Union disbanded many years ago, right? There is no more Soviet Union.

Nothing's in the Soviet Union anymore, it broke up in 1991, which actually annoyed me. All my childhood I was irritated by the fact that I couldn't figure out what the letters CCCP stood for and then it broke up and didn't exist any more.

I started to learn Russian soon after that and then I found out. The Russian letters C and P correspond to our S and R; which made a lot more sense but the country doesn't exist any more so I can't look all clever when CCCP appears on the news and sports programmes ... which is slightly more than irritating, it's blooming annoying.

Anyway back to the question. The Societ Union was made up of the Russian Federation and the Baltic states etc. Great Britain is part of the United Kingdom.

No; BRITAIN (correct spelling) is in Union of European Soviet Socialist Republics, AKA the Franco-German Empire, more commonly known as the EU or European Union. The sooner we're out the better!

On the planet that I live on, Great Britain is an island nation quite a distance from Russia! The only ties to Russia that Britain had was that Queen Victoria's Grandson was Czar Nicholas Romanov, the last Czar of Russian.
