You might want to contact a legislator and ask if there is anything you could volunteer to do at their office or since the election is coming up volunteer for a candidate you believe in.

It is true, an absolutely fantastic way to get your foot in the foor is to be a page. It is an extremely tough job to land if you don't know someone, so don't get discouraged. I wish you lots of luck!
