My Chihuahua that I got a few days ago, is starting to smell bad, so I got shampoo. Where should I bathe them, in the bathtub or the sink. Oh, and should I brush them afterwards.

It really does not matter where you bathe your dog. The sink would probably be the best choice since Chihuahua's are normally small dogs, the bath tub may be a bit large. Plus the sink allows you to get them directly wet, instead of messing around with scooping up water and dumping it on them with a cup. Good Luck!

Because it is so small, I would say the sink. But put a towel on the bottom of the sink so the dog has something to grip. If it slips, it can seriously hurt itself. I think it is good for you to brush the dog after. You dont have to but you could. If you ever have a long haired dog though, I would brush them after their baths because that is when they lose the most hair.

I use the kitchen sink for mine too then wash with bleach. The dogs feel safer because it's not too big or deep and it's so much easier on your back.

Just be sure to keep a close eye on them so as you can grab them if they try and jump. Have averything ready, shampoo, towel etc right by the sink before you even pick up the dog.

I give my chihuahua a bath is both the sink and the tub. Make sure you dry her thoroughly and brush after that. Also its a good idea to get a book on chihuahuas if this one is your first.

depends on if you are more comfortable standing infront of the sink or kneeling at the tub but either is fine. I would wait until the dog is dry to brush as it will get more of the dead hair out seems like but there again it is up to you.

that is a personal preference really. I bathe mine in the sink and then bleach out the sink afterwards.

They are so tiny I think the sink would be better for you. Sure after you dry them off give them a brushing. Its a great way to bond with your new pup. Talk really softly to her and tell her what a good pup she is. They love that.

I always took my Chihuahua into the shower with me. That way I could hold her and she wasn't so scared. I never brushed her but she was a short haired type. She died 2 weeks ago, I'm still so sad.

I would use the sink, make sure to use the sprayer and don't fll the sink up. you want to make sure the dog has no leftover soap, it causes hot flashes and the dog will get really sensitive skin and rashes. or I hook my rott up outside on the bottom of the porch and spray her to get her.
