you have 2 simliar coins, and we make one spin on the edge of the other. How many times does the spinning coin turn on itself each time it makes an entire lap around the stationary one?

There is a one to one mapping of the perimeters of both coins.
Tracing that mapping causes a single relative rotation between the two coins.

3.14 times, the formula to find the circumfrence (area around a circle) is 2pi(3.14) radius, so 2r is really the diameter, so it is piD, if the coin is spining around another coin the same size, than every time it takes one spin it would be the length of the diameter, so divide your formula by the diameter and you get 3.14 or pi.
