My vote for worst year ever in NASCAR goes to 1967.
In the first 10 races of a 47 race season (not counting Daytona Qualifiers), there were 6 different winners. Petty won 4, Pearson won 2 and the other wins went to Parnelli Jones, Mario Andretti, Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough.
For the remaining 39 races only 4 other driver's names show up as a winner. Darel Dieringer, Jim Paschall (4), Dick Hutcherson (2) and Buddy Baker.
Allison won 5 races total, Cale (2) and Pearson (2).
Richard Petty won 23 races of the remaining 37 including 10 in a row from August 12 to October 15, to get 27 total wins on the year.
Petty fans loved it, everyone else hated it and of course there was talk of cheating and Petty being favored by NASCAR.
Nothing ever changes, apparently.

I personally agree with you, however I think we have hope! I too am very tired of watching these guys go out there knowing that noone can compete with the chevy teams However, I think the cot will help some and I have noticed some teams up the wheel trying to catch up, and although it won't happen overnight I believe the other teams will catch up. I am a Penske fan so I have been thrilled to see those guys who haven't been competitive in some time, run so well as of late. Kurt has had one of the best cars out there for a few weeks now, and Ryan's car has been very good for a while too. Evernham is struggling badly, but Roush seems to be running better than previous weeks also. I still must agree though, this has been the worst year for a fan who doesn't love the mainstream chevy guys ever! But I love NASCAR and hold out hope that it will get better.

Not to the chase only two race will be COT races making it a much more playing field
and remember it's the first year of COT and because the teams don't have that much experiance in driving the COT in an actual race wait to the end of the year other teams will start catching on to the COT meaning Hendrick will not win all the COT races
and Hendrick has spent the most money into devoloping the COT after other teams get ther programs better probably by August other teams will be winning races.

back in the 80's, when bill elliott was winning all of the races, the chevy people were crying like stewart, when he loses a race. they kept making ford adjust there cars until chevy could beat them. i wonder why nascar is not doing this now, with the chevy's dominating. there is a bias from nascar toward the chevy's, and there always will be. sorry dodge, toyota, and ford.maybe you should start your own racing league.

I understand your frustration but hang in there. The Gibbs guys are really close, and Penske and RCR have picked it up. You know Roush will make a charge and if DEI can figure the contract stuff out, Truex and Earnhardt will challenge. Hendrick just has the COT figured out first, and other than Casey Mears.. they are having zero bad luck. It can only go on so long.. these other guys will get tired of all this and start trying things to beat these guys. Then it will be well worth it to see someone finally beat them.

I agree. It does seem that all teams are making improvements (anyone else see Labonte's #43 climbing the top twenty here and there?), but right now it's getting mundane. I respect Gordon, but it seems to be the same stupid finish every week (this Sunday was an exeception). If it wasn't for the dumb caution that set up the final laps, MARK MARTIN WOULD HAVE WON DAYTONA!!!!!!!!! I've lost all interest though myself, and didn't even think of watching the race this past Sunday.

watch for Kurt Busch. He's coming on of late. The reason the same ones are winning is because there are not but 4 or 5 that's any good.

Ya, Jamie McMurray! Or Juan Pablo Montoya (even though I'm not Mexican, I think its so awesome he's in NASCAR, because it opens up doors for minorities)!!! But Jamie (go #26!) is having a gooood season... he just might win another one this year!

I totally agree with your question. I mean with Johnson and Gordon picking up most of the wins this season I am pretty bored with watching Nascar. The fact that Hendrick drivers seem to have figured out the COT before anyone else has made watching the races boring and predictable.

It does seem that it is a waste of time to watch a race this year.It seems to be so predictable as to who is going to win.
I'll watch the races on Sunday and Saturday nights. If my favorite driver wins great,if not try again next week.
But this season reminds me of the year that STACEY RACING won everything,Back in the 70's and 80's.
