My daughter has been diagnosed as Bipolar. We are very much christians and have had several people tell us that they believe all these diagnoses of today are actually demons. I have done some research and I am so confused mainly because when I first started hearing about it, I totaly rolled my eyes and thought they were freaks. Then I realized how many times in the bible it talks about Jesus casting out demons, I was shocked! I don't know what to believe?

I don't know if I would go so far as to say demon possessed, but I do believe that there are evil spirits involved in these types of things. I don't really believe too much in all these mental disorders that they're pulling out lately, but at the same time, I think there may be some validity. I would go ahead and medicate, but make prayer your main source for healing. Ask your pastor what he thinks. Ask the church elders to pray for your daughter.
A lady ministered at my church awhile back and did healings, I picked up her handbook on how to pray for different things. It's not always instant, some things take longer than others to heal. A lot of sickness is from sin in our own lives, like unforgiveness. I don't know how old your daughter is, but this might be something to discuss with her. Unforgiveness rots your bones, and is a major cause of sickness I believe.

The book says to pray with them for repentance for generational curses (if you know what they are) - pray for forgiveness from traumas suffered at a young age -- cast out the Spirit of Bipolar Disorder (in Jesus' name) -- Command the electrical and magnetic frequencies to be in harmony and balance.

I know it sounds kinda crazy, but I watched this work, and I watched my friends begin to pray for others and see healings. We are children of the King, co-heirs with Christ. We do have the authority to command the Spirit world. Using Jesus' name, as long as you are truly connected, you carry God's authority to cast out sickness and evil spirits. Just remember that story about the guy who tried to cast out demons and they turned on him and asked him who the heck he was. Make sure you are in sync with God first.

My daughter has Bipolar for years, i can tell you it gets worse and worse the more they go out, last month my daughter went out was in the hospital, came home and just a few days ago went out again and is in another hospital, you are right to think demons, they open doors because of sin, my daughter who is a christian did many times, horrible un christian sins i wont name here , she cant be possessed but she can be demon oppressed Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. , if Jesus was here today i have know doubt he would heal our kids and cast this evil out. I have your back and for those that think demon possession is very very rare, you haven't been reading your bible, look at all these shootings, this is not from God, its pure evil. God Bless you Juls.. Paster, Mark. lordspage@facebook.com

No, your daughter is not possesed, you should be able to see a difference between when is wasn't on her meds and when she is. Shouldn't this show that the medication does what it is supposed to? Medications wouldn't work if it was a demon. She needs her medication or she could hurt herself or others very badly. Go talk to a psychologist/psychiatrist you trust or if you can see one of them an MD will do. They can answer all your questions and give you a good understanding of how Bipolar disorder works.

And to Allison W I suggest you try actually studying mental disorders before you go giving people horrible advice. People who suffer from Bipolar Disorder do not act like "asshole" as you so eloquently put it.

Listen to your christian friends. EVERY sickness is caused by devils.

Many times in the Bible as you know when a demon was cast out it is what would be known of today as a mental disorder.

I don't know if I would call it possessed. Or maybe I would. Research on this has shown people diagnosed with bi-polar disorder have a lot of the symptoms of the people who were possessed in the Bible.

Medication today can help to control the body where a demon can't function with it. But you don't want your daughter to be drugged up for the rest of her life, she'd never be free from this either and it could catch up with her very seriously, you should know what that could be. (Suicide)

Never the less possessed or not it is still a demon that is controlling her problem. When she gets in this condition plead the blood of Jesus over her, this will help keep doing it and believe. Find a good man of God and have him to pray over her. Be prayed up yourself because this will be very hard to endure if she is really possessed and he has the spirit of God in him. This could be very violent. But you have to get them out, or they will destroy her eventually.

My Father in the 70's and 80's dealt with a lot of demon possession, he's a pentecostal preacher.

I hope this helped you but it really does not answer your question. But you know what to look for and you know something needs to be done.

I'll pray for your daughter.
May God help you.

I don't like to think of things like demons,i don't want to give them credence.I see my DR take my meds and pray a lot.Try to fill your mind with good things( believe me I know how hard that is)The eyes are the windows of the soul,so fill them with scripture.I recommend starting in john.Don't let other negative people rob your energy, they may be good people but if your in survival mode you need all the good energy you can get.Try not to feel like your stuck, and cannot get better. It is self defeating.Think positive even if you have to force it.Write on a paper 10 things that are good about you.recite it at least once a day,it helps.Dont stop praying. If you can't remember certain scripture or prayers then just talk to God like he was right next to you, because he is.He is waiting for you,he wants to talk with you.I don't want to ramble ,just trying to give some inspiration ..It also helps me to try and help others.Praise God in Jesus name ..AMEN.

No and any Christian that would tell you that is wrong- you are a Christian family but she needs to be on meds that will help. Medication is not secular. God gave people the ideas for the new meds that out there- Jesus did cast out demons but not all illnesses are satanic in nature. Give your daughter the meds that she needs so she can live a more normal life.

It is always the endeavor of the world to put all medical problems as secular in nature . I have always thought that at least some if not most could be spiritual . By all means see a doctor for help. But that doesn't mean that you can't help in a spiritual way . It is very non intrusive. My suggestion is to say the rosary for her or with her. Christ told his apostles that the reason they could not drive out some demons is that some of them take special prayer to get rid of. I firmly believe that the special prayer is the rosary. But she should say the rosary first or you won't know whether it is the medication or the prayer. It has worked for me . If it doesn't work for her get help from a licensed medical practitioner. But try the rosary first.

My son has Asperger's syndrome, trust me I've wondered the same thing a time or two. If your looking to the past, they also used to drill holes in people's head to 'remove the demons'. Trust the doctor's, get a second opinion. My son has been in 3 different hospitals 5 different times, and he's only eight. It's excruciating to go through, but it's for his benefit. He needs changes in meds that have to monitored, behavior modification, and lots and lots of counseling. He needs more help than I can give him so I send him places that can provide what he needs.

Don't listen to the people who say 'demons'. That is basically just them looking for an easy explanation, an easy fix. This world isn't easy, it isn't fair. Children get sick, they get diagnosed with horrible diseases. It sucks, but it happens.

I'm sorry for you and your daughter. I hope she can get control over herself (mentally), but that is something SHE is going to have to learn to do. You can help her by getting the counseling and meds she needs.
Blessed Be! )o(

Wow what a tough question to answer!! I honestly don't know, and I don't think that we as humans should just declare that a person is demon-possessed unless God shows us that. Be sure to pray about it and God will reveal to you if it is if he wants you to know.

She's not possessed. She needs mental help. For Heaven's sake, don't buy into that nonsense. People who believe things like that always wind up killing their children and then they go on trial with some ridiculous religion argument. There is a lot of "casting out demons" in the Bible because the people who WROTE the Bible didn't know anything of mental illness. All illness, mental as well as physical, was considered to be caused by demons in that time.
