Yes, 4:40 is a good time for the mile. Perhaps too good to be true.

Assuming you are a 11 to 12 year old and a boy, 4:40 for the mile scores 91% to 94% using the WAVA age graded running tables. This is roughly equivalent to a 25 year old running 3:57. Either you are a national/world class miler for your age or the course was measured incorrectly (more likely) or you are making up a story. From the additional comment added to the question, I see you are asking a hypothectical question.

Impossible as it may seem to be, somewhere in Kenya or Ethiopia there is a 12 year old who can do this.

yea fantastically stable im the only 6th grader on the music team i run the 0.5 mile and quater mile at times and that i will run around 6:30 and final 365 days i ran like 7:02 yet once you prefer to be between the suitable mile runners in center college you need to initiate training now run 2-3 miles thrice a week i be conscious of a seventh grader that has ran 5:05 so the contest is fantastically stressful i'm fantastically lots on the tip of the season and that i've got only seen one 6th grader run in the mile and he have been given 6:06 the mile circumstances for center college music is around 5:00-6:10 and county team i even observed somebody run 4:40 so i think of the state human beings run around 4:30. i wish I helped and stable activity with presidentail award i purely won a award like that yet all you gota do is do 30 push united states50 curl united statesand run a nil.5 mile below 3:30 fantastically undemanding save working its an incredible game!

There is no way a 5th grader can run a 4:40 mile... never the less, in gym class. haha

This is a great time for a 5th grader seeing that the world record is something like 3.90 or a little less.

Im the Best Distance Runner in my Middle School and My Mile time Is 5:38 so good luck telling ur Mom and Dad and hoping they believe you.

It's Okay. At my school we have a 4th grader who can run
a 4:29 mile in gym just fooling around, and it's a girl:) But you have a good start, mom & dad should be proud.

you didn't run a 4.40 mile...you ran 40 yds in 4.4 seconds.. and that makes you faster than most NFL wide receivers. liar.
