Openly admit you don't believe in Jesus or God.
People feel free to discriminate against atheists because it is easy to pretend they aren't around. It's hard to determine how many atheists there are for a variety of reasons. Mainly, we're just not a cohesive group.
So, it is important to speak up about your lack of supersititon. It's harder to spread hate about atheists when your friend is one. Let your friends know. It's about time we stop being overlooked and discriminated against.

Why does it matter? And why do you assume that "everyone else" even thinks you believe in god? You must have all sorts of pressure on you from friends and family to even be asking this question! Where do you live? Salt Lake City? The Bible Belt? (What the hell is the bible belt and does it still really exist?) Maybe you need to move to a more open minded place, where there is a confluence of diversity, where you aren't judged solely upon your beliefs. If they judge you about not believing in god, tell them to go to hell!
Good luck!

You should always be true to yourself, it is our choice to believe or not. It is never good to supress our beliefs just because others are not approving. Life is simply too short to worry about what others think, as in the end it is only our thoughts of ourself that matter.
I am a spiritual person, but do not believe in preaching. As it is not conducive to me. It is better to be a living example of your spirituality to others than a hypocrite. Which I feel that most "religious" people are.
So blessings to you on your path in this life. May the road be kind to you.
Blessings

You need to be honest with yourself first and foremost and understand why you feel this way! Then when you are comfortable with that, go public. Depends on whom you open up to, you may get some flack over it, but stand up to what you believe in!!! I personally believe there is a God, but that is just MY belief. Don't be afraid to speak out, but be prepared!
God Bless You in your decision

Dude, don't lie to yourself or anyone else. Study the Bible study other trusted sources. Trust yourself assuming you know yourself well enough to know where to draw the line. Work through your questions. Think them out and be patient. Ask people who you think are knowledgable in this area. Remeber it is often wise to keep your thoughts to yourself when possible.

I grew up quaker....the Liberal quakers have faith that all and sundry has the indoors gentle in them. in line with a Bible verse, they think of that all and sundry has the hoily spirit in them, so we are all entitled to worship. They began women's rights strikes and the underground railroad because of the fact they felt strongly approximately equality. because of the fact all and sundry has the gentle, no you may actually be taken care of as a lesser individual or team. on the church I went to, there have been some gay human beings too. they permit women preachers and ladies to talk at church. they have faith that the Bible is a solid instruction manual to stay via, yet that it is not inevitably the be conscious of God. i might might desire to declare that Quakers are the main laid returned and accepting team of human beings who fall under the Christian umbrella.

You should totally speak out, and let people know you don't buy into their superstitions.
Atheists are highly discriminated against, and every voice out there, and every atheist that shows how ridiculous the stereotypes are, helps fight the prejudice and helps atheists reach a very important goal--true equality in this country (there are still states out there that don't allow atheists to hold office, for crying out loud!)

Just openly admit it. No one's going to harm you for being a free-thinker.

Lol, just be honest! As you can see in the above answers, God hates it when you lie about believing in Him, and he knows it anyway if you were to fake your beliefs.
That's why their God adores deathbed conversions so much. (Sigh)

You can admit it or not, but the end result is that God knows your heart, no matter how or where you try to hide it.
