two weeks. Make yourself do it for two weeks every day. It will become habit. Also, mix it up. I run, lift weights, swim, play raquetball, climb a rock wall, go biking, etc.

Get an exercise buddy - someone who is expecting you to show up for an activity. You will motivate each other. There are so many different things to do, it depends on what you consider "fun". There's weightlifting, aerobics classes, walking, jogging, bike riding, tennis, raquetball, line skating, martial arts, dance, team sports, etc. Try a class or two and see what you like.

Walking is nearly free and you can do it anywhere. Use small hand weights to increase the intensity of the workout. Alternate between jogging and walking. Take your i-pod and some water and you're ready to go.

You can't think of exercising as work or something that you "have" to do. You have to enjoy it and "want" to do it. Some people swim, some run, some play tennis, some ride bicycles. I like to dance. Whatever you like to do, listening to your favorite type of music while you are doing it will make the time go fast. I get on an exercycle whenever I am on the phone. Before I know it, I have done 30 minutes of exercising and have chatted with a friend at the same time.

Just exercise a little each day until you can build up your endurance, making you able to exercise for a longer period of time, then you will gradually get into a habit of exercising. Fun exercises are in Seventeen magazines also. =]

one great way is to join a team or a league OR take a class. if you like softball, bowling, tennis, whatever, it's great fun to play while you exercise.

some classes that would be great are salsa, ballroom, hiphop or even hula. i had a friend take a pole dancing class - she sucked, but she had a great time and lost a few pounds in the process. you might like yoga, pilates, roller hockey, basketball...wow! the list is literally endless!

the bottom line is to find an activity that you will enjoy because that is what will keep you going and as you get more fit, you will want to be more physically active!
