The process of evolution is a fact; it's only not a FACT that it's what advanced life in the world, it's just a very very good theory. We can't go back and empirically prove that it is, or at least not yet (there are ways to see into the past, which we will probably utilize much farther down the road), so until we can, we don't accept it as fact.
Being a "theory" is not a bad thing for a scientific concept, it's actually very good. It has much more weight than just a hypothesis, but it's not a law.
People won't believe in evolution because it makes them uncomfortable. They see two opposing ideas: the literalist creation story and evolution. To many conservative Christians, the two thoughts can in no way coincide. It's all a matter of familiarity and comfort. That's all.

Actually Evolution is a theory. Right now it is considered the most popular theory of how humans came about, but it is still a theory.
Your argument about the evolution being sin is not logical. Sin is about violating moral right and wrong. One of the main points of right and wrong is it's immutability. What is right now is always right. What is wrong now is always wrong. Otherwise its just an opinion. However, I do see room for God in evolution.
Many people will not believe in Macro-Evolution (changing of one species to another) because it hasn't really been proven only theorized. My main issue is that I have never observed anything in nature going from less to more order. It tends to go the other way around.
Also there is the issue of transitional species or the lack there of. In other words where is the first species with gender and how would that be beneficial over asexual reproduction. Where are the fossils of the animal with sinuses but no nose or vise versa.
I'm not saying there is no way that it was an evolutionary process, but I'm just not convinced that we have it figured out yet.

Most of evolution is still a theory. It's a little weaker than electromagnetism and on par with gravity, which are still theories. It is a fact that we have learned a large number of the mechanisms and can demonstrate the process in the lab and the field. There is still a lot to be learned before we can "close the book".

A monkey being "very similar to us humans" does not validate a Theory. And trust me Skippy, Evolution as it pertains to the creation of man is a THEORY. It is not fact, it is not true and all the technology in the world has not been able to "prove" it. Consensus does not mean fact. Get over it.
You should really read up on this instead of just regurgitating something you read on the Internet.

It's not a predicatble fact. You can't make a prediction of what way something will go and when.
And there are at least 6-12 different theories on evolution as to the origin of things.
Darwin, for example, said Whales came from Bears.
I recently saw that various groups of scientists are on conflict about Neaderthal and Sapiens. IF or IF NOT they coexisted. Some say yes, some say no.

Christians want to believe that they're special and not cousins of "ape-like creatures." They want to live in a world free of things that compromise their religion instead of learning about them. There are mountains of evidence for evolution (including fossils and DNA evidence). There is no evidence that anything the bible says is true. You have to believe something that has been translated too many times to count.

Evolution is a theory. I take evolution seriously, and even I acknowledge this.
Again, in terms of the scientific definition, theory is not a wishy-washy word. It's not a four letter word by any stretch of the imagination.

Our understanding of the mechanism of evolution is way too weak to support calling it anything more than a theory at this time. Science definitely chokes on some of the hard questions concerning evolution. How did life begin? Lots of theories, no solid proof. How did life make the leap from single cell to complex multi-cellular forms? No idea. The lack of answers to questions like these is why it will probably never make it past "theory".

Honestly.. look at how many idiots just called it a guess. I'm seriously wondering whether there's something wrong with 99% of the population on the planet that they can't understand it. If the education is this bad, its a wonder we aren't still living in caves.
