That is often brought up, wouldn't it be nice if it were true.

No.
Is Yahweh same as Baal?
I am even skeptical that in the so-called Abrahamic faiths, that God is the same entity. Is the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the same as Allah who has no companion (or whatever the formula is)?
Even gods who play cognate roles in their respective pantheons have differing biographies.
It is my personal belief that the gods are various personifications and projects relative to a specific group. God (capital G) is an attempt to mush together the various projections.

IMO, there is only one deity and that one deity has infinite faces and infinite voices. Whether a person wants to talk to God or Allah or Shiva or Athena or Thor doesn't matter since they are just communicating with different personalities of the same entity. The "ears" of all these gods and goddesses all go to the same "mind" of a single deity. This single deity can be called God or Bob, it only matters to each separate person.

Not the Abrahamic God. There may be some Universal Force/Entity, but I believe that there are many Gods and Goddesses, each with their own personalities. But these are more down to Earth, more connected with Nature. They are not some amorphous unknowable being.
Those are my beliefs anyway.

Not really. In ancient polytheistic societies Gods had the same failings and desires as human beings. The Christian God is supposed to be faultless, all powerful and all knowing.

No, but they have one thing in common, they are all made up by men.
There have come many gods out of humans minds. These gods were fighting with each other over power, mating with each other, and everything else people also do.
Find some convenient gods:

Of course! That's why I never understood all the fighting amongst different religions. If you believe that there is only ONE true god, then don't you agree that it's name is of no importance. Whether god is called Yahweh, Allah, or Father, etc., then you must acknowledge that it is all the same god. To state otherwise is saying that you believe that there are many gods but you only worship one of them.

Yes because Islam, Christianity, and Judaism can all be linked back to Abraham. (pbuh) Hinduism and Paganism are very similar they both worship nature except Hindu people worship alive nature like animals and stuff and Pagan people worship beauty of nature, moon.sun, sky, grass and such. So yes its the same deity with different names given to by us humans because we have this need to be different yet the same but better.

People think that it couldn't be the same God because the religions say different things, but I think that's because different people need to -hear- different things. People need to be taught in terms they can understand and relate to. Wherever compassion is, that's where you'll find God's teachings.

There is only one Supreme Deity. Of course everyone thinks "their" God is the Supreme God ... and it's usually true because most worship the same God, yet give him a different name.
