This was my fisrt crash so i did not get the cops involved. This lady was coming out of the parking lot and she saw that i was coming but she still went out and she suddenly stoped. so when i stoped it was to late. we pulled over to the sidewalk and her husband said that he was going to pay for everything but now he told me that i have to pay for the paint.

i know that i should'nt pay for something i did'nt cause. I didn't do a police report. what can i do in case i want to sue. or what can i do if i want to make him pay.

Find out if the Parking lot is covered by a camera, see if the recording has not been recycled, and taped over.

In the UK i believe you are legally entitled to a copy of CCTV footage that contains you. All you need is the time and date.

I think i am right - Be polite, you can only ask. This would strengthen your case if or when you make a claim.

The other driver might cave in and pay up when you send them a copy of the tape, (remember to keep your own copy safe)

you have no report, no witnesses, etc. did you exchange insurance info, or just forget everything? if you have no proof of anything, then you might be screwed. i hope you learned your lesson...you have no proof that the accident wasn't your fault.
