Everyone says I'm way too skinny, but I think I'm pretty average. I probably don't eat like I should and I don't exercise pretty much ever.

I'm 16 years old, 5 feet 7 inches and when I went to the docotor in Febuary, I was 99.5 pounds.

I really don't want to be like those people you just wanna throw food at. Should I try and gain some or just not worry about it?

Yep, you are too thin. Being too thin can make you likely to suffer more when you get ill, and to have thin bones when you are older. It is worth the trouble to change your habits some to gain a bit.

Your weight is in the anorexic range, and people who weigh that little have trouble gaining weight for a few reasons...

They have trouble heating their bodies, because they have too much surface area. You can wear more clothing to keep yourself warm.

Nobody knows why, but Calcium fortified orange juice helps very thin people regain a normal bodily balance. It also keeps them from suffering some of the weirder side effects of anorexia - like heart attacks.

Believe it or not, a little more exercise may increase your appetite, and at least put on some muscle. Take a nice walk daily.

If none of that works, remember... ice cream is a beautiful form of food! It is pretty good for you, and it has a lot of calories. Baking yourself some fortified cookies and having them on hand all the time will make eating well and regularly effortless. I make peanut butter-oatmeal with fruit and nuts and extra milk powder.

If you are thin and eat little, you are probably not getting all the nutrients that you need either. You probably want to take a daily multivitamin.

Finally, if you feel fine you are probably fine, but if you don't feel fine, anorexia may be a sign of health problems. Most people don't realize that skinniness can be a sign of things as serious as diabetes and cancer.

There is the small possibility that if you have an extremely small body frame for your height, that you could still be a healthy weight. Even then, I would still think that you are pretty borderline.

You should really see your doctor to determine whether this is the case for you or not. He/she can perform a body composition test to find out whether your body fat levels are healthy and also can determine whether you have a healthy amount of lean tissue. You will then know whether you need to gain fat, muscle or more than likely, both.

I would not worry about it if you are naturally skinny. however you really need to get regular exercise of some sort you know how important it is for health. also increasing your level of activity will almost surely increase your appetite as well. get some exercise, the human body is not designed to be sedentary and it will catch up to you in the long run.

That is rather slender for your height. A good goal range would be 120-130. I know it can be hard to gain weight. I need to gain and I'm having a hard time too.
