I'm just curious on what people would think about this. I'm a Spiritualist. What is that you ask? I don't bind myself to a religion, I bind myself to God. I pray to him at night and on occassion I say silly things to him in hopes it makes him laugh, for exampe, I told him to tell the Holy Ghost this is not an episode of scooby doo (if you've seen comedian Eddie Izzard, you'll know what I mean). I accept Gays and I fight for their rights to get married. I read Harry Potter, and yes, God Forbid, I have sex outside of marriage (i'm not married). I don't go to Church (because most Church people are close minded, based on my experience), and I don't read the Bible, because I don't believe it's accurate. God didn't write it, prophets wrote it. You can't speak for God, he can speak for Himself. Do you think I will go to hell since I'm a Spiritualist? Just curious as to what people think. No matter what, I'll always be a spiritualist, just curious. :)

I think you should check out "Religious Science" - your beliefs seem to go hand in hand with theirs. (ours) We don't believe in hell. No such thing. God is a power. I don't refer to God as a "him" - because I don't like humanizing It. But it's okay if you do. My church's website is www.sanjosecenter.org
We are starting to call ourselves a center instead of a church. A lot of people are turned off by the word "church" - but that's what it is to me. I go there on Sundays. Still - it's very open at the top. We have a theatre group there. Our minister is gay. There are lots of couples there who live together and are not married. You would fit right in.
Oh - and you are not going to hell - because their is no hell. Unless, of course, you make one for yourself here on earth.

even Spiritualist have their rules they follow, where you got yours seems like child's play. You are also the type that never listened to mom and dad because they wouldn't let you do what you wanted to. That is not Spiritualism, that is spoiled-ism.
I do not go to Church neither, but I don't question the words of the Bible, since many words have been found to be true. I do follow the commandments, they were given to us for a reason.
So you just keep going in your little ole happy way, but don't be surprised when you really need help, it will not be there, because you didn't really believe. It only suited your purpose.

What other people think isn't important. What do *you* think? Are you happy? Have you found something that works for you? Does your idea of God/Religion/Spirituality bring light into your life? Does it inspire you to be the best person you can be? If all of the above are true, you are on the right track. Don't worry about heaven, don't worry about hell, don't worry about things that may not be. Just be a good person and let spirituality speak to you the way that it needs to. That's really all that matters.

The fact that you are a Spiritualist will not mean a ticket to hell. Christian belief is contradicting on the issue.
First it says that you must believe in Jesus to enter Heaven, but then it also says in other places that you will primarily be judged on how you lived your life.
You alone know how you live your life.
Also remember that there are thousands of different churches, most with different views, I have seen a church that basically teaches what you believe. At the end of the day, you will be judged on how you lived your life and whether you believed in God or not, not what church you go to or how your religion is structured. All the other things, like going to church and other religious rules and regulations are man made, meant for those who want or need such rules in their religion.

Since hell is a fictional place, I know with complete certainty that you won't go there.
I'm not sure what you are praying to, but since God is also a made up deity, I know there is nobody listening to your prayers except you.
"Spiritualism" is just as silly as any other religious belief, but as long as you keep your ideas to yourself, and don't try and have laws passed or school curiculum amended with a "spiritualist" agenda...i don't care what you choose to believe.

Well- I'll be right there with you!
I love God very much, and like you, I talk with Him often.
Also like you, I don't attend church - it's too judgemental for me.
I do read the Bible though - particulary Psalms and some of the Old Testament - just to remind me that God has touched so many peoples lives for thousands of years-
So no - I don't think that either of us are going to Hell!

Yes you will go to hell because you are doing everything that God does not approve of. Oh sure you accept this group or that group big deal. It's kinda like your gonna make your friend an egg omelet, you have three good eggs and one spoiled egg. Your not going to put that one bad egg into the bowl and serve it to your friend it's going taste rotten. Meaning one sin is going to cancel out any good that you think you might be doing. Going to God with even one sin is wrong since he can't stand to look upon it.

Dear phantom,
People go to hell because they have broken God's law. In fact every single person has broken God's law and is destined for hell. However, the Lord in His great mercy and lovingkindness determined to have some of these rebellious sinners as His children and be with Him in heaven.
Because God is absolutely just and righteous, He could not just allow them in. Payment for their sins had to be made. The payment, as you may know, is to spend eternity in the lake of fire or hell. So how could God get their sin penalty paid without having to condemn them? Christ became their substitute. God became a man, lived a perfect sinless life, and then endured the equivalent of spending eternity in hell condensed into the hours of the atonement to pay these elect ones sin debt.
God chose these "elect" ones before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:3-5). We do not know who these "elect" ones are but God does. The Bible also tells us that God is no respector of persons so salvation is not dependent on your nationality, intellect, gender, beauty, wealth, height, etc. However, when a person is saved or born from above, they are given a new resurrected soul in which they have a love for God and His word (Psalms 119; John 14:15, 21).
"For many are called, but few are chosen."

I am a christian (I wish there was a different word for it since christians themselves have kind of drug that name through the mud) . I also believe everything you said in your explanation of your question. I do not think you are going to hell and actually I do not believe in hell. I think your relationship with God sounds like it is becoming more personal all the time as well as always seeking. It also does not sound like you have hate (even the observation of christians you followed with in your experience, I like that). So i would personally have to say no not at all. Besides even the separate religions that we have made are still worshiping God. I do not think the name we as humans put on it makes a difference. You love God and it is apparent you show it in the way you live by the way you did not use any hate in your question. Good work and stay strong on your journey... something I always try to remember by the number one commandment (which I think everyone should follow whether religious, spiritual, or abstaining from thinking about their own spirituality...) is someone preaches hate... they are not speaking for God.

Hmmmm, very easy question. You are going to heaven!
I am also a spiritualist and a Christian. That is satans worst enemy. Only because we love and pray for everyone no matter who.
The Old Testament was written by men in a time we can barely comprehend. Who is to judge wether or not some of them were realy prophits. In fact if you examine some of the old testament closely with what Jesus Christ says you can definately see the contradictions.
Love your enemys, love your nieghbor as yourself, ect.....
Love is the key to heaven. Not just words in a book. Just Love, plain and simple love.
And it looks to me like you got it!!!
