Don't cut it. Or fold it. Folding it will give you a double dose.

If you don't like the strenght your own go back and see your Doctor for a lower dose patch. They come in 25's, 50's, 75's and the strongest 100's.
They last 76 hours but have a tendancy to run out after 24 as the effect gets lower.

What strength are you on now?

The patches are addictive physically but take a log time to get to this stage.
If they are giving you relief now, keep them up. They are safe for long term pian management.

No. There is no way lower the dosage on your own unless you want to take the patch off all together, but I wouldnt recommend that. You should talk to your doctor and express your concerns because the drug is VERY addictive. My husband was on 150 mg of fentanyl off and on for several months and did get addicted to it. Towards the end, he vomited constantly and had cold sweats and the shakes. The doctors didnt realize what was happening until it was too late. (He had three major surgeries in the matter of 4 months). Please be very careful and talk to your doctor ASAP. I wouldnt want anyone to have to go through what he did.

I dont think the doctor will have any problem writing you a lower dosage prescription. Hope this information helps. Good luck.

If you want a lesser dose, let your physician know. She will give you a script for a lesser dose.
