Take it up with your sister. She's the one who caused the problem by being irresponsible. Also, is your dog going to be using your cell phone too? Regardless, you can't blame your dad. Be glad you're getting a cell phone at all after the mess your sister made!

I had this same problem with my dad. See if there is a plan where you can get a certain amount of text messaging for a certain price. I know that some carriers even offer unlimited text messaging for a price too. Tell him that you might need it in an emergency and you can't talk and need to contact him to say that someone has held you as a hostage or you are in class and you realized you forgot to turn the coffee pot off at home. Come up with something creative and use reverse psychology!!! That always helps.

Don't blame him! I don't really know what you want other than suggestions, but try paying for it. if you can't do that, BE DIFFERENT! It's never killed some1 before! 1110 dollars is a pretty good reason to limit texting. Be responsible with the phone and he may change his mind.

I agree. Find outhow much its costs to get unlimited text messaging with your network because some netwoks still allow text messaging even if you dont have the service... THAT is when it become ridiculous. Tell your dad your saving him money in the long run because you know you're going to be tempted to text and friends of yours( who might not know you don't have text messaging on your plan) will end up sending you text messages anyway... you're still going to get charged for those. Tell him it would benfit him and its not expensive at all.

well, not EVERYBODY has it but you...I promise. And you won't be a deprived child for NOT having it. Dad obviously has an EXCELLENT reason to block text messaging...Maybe you can try chores or something to show responsibility that you won't do that....
But, it's not the end of the world.
I thought you're question was going to say something like,"...and he said no...because my dog will text more than me." since you put it in the DOGS section.
Good luck :0)

First of all, this question has nothing to do with dogs. Second of all, you do not "need" text messaging. Sure it would be convenient, but you do not "need" it. Offer to pay the extra part of the bill for unlimited texting, and if he says no, that's probably the end of the line.

I work for a cell phone company and it is much better to get a txt package rather than paying for each one you send and receive. You can live without text messaging, you are not going to die. I usually only text but that is because I get them for free. Show him you will be responsible and then just ask him if you can get a package either.

Cingular has a new offer. Unlimited text and media messaging for $5 per month. Offer to wash his car twice a month to pay for the extra charge. BEWARE, you may also be charged for the download time. It is only pennies, but if you and your friends text a BUNCH it can add up. You could find yourself washing his car everyday.

Sorry, I'm with your Dad. I'd be mad too. Sounds like too much texting, not enough learning.
You don't need text messaging. You need food, water and clothing. You want text messaging. There's a big difference.
Why is this in dogs?
