Jesus said that when He Is lifted up, He will draw all mankind unto him. By this he was talking about the way he would die.
To those redeemed by His Blood, the cross is the power of the Gospel. For those who reject it, it is foolishness.
God gives us everlasting life if we only believe in Jesus. It is a free gift and not by our own righteousness. We receive Christ righteousness. Salvation is a gift of God.
Many enemies of the cross have declared what you wrote. But they are people not yet redeemed by His shed blood for remission of our sins.

When, not IF, Jesus comes back to Earth, I think he will be glad to see one. It shows we have not forgotten the tremendous sacrifice he did for us to cleanse the Earth of sin. It is a symbol of Christianity we use to remember him, and if we stop it will symbolize a loss of faith or lack of caring that he suffered so much. I would certainly be all, "Wow. I've just risen from the dead and you parade the way I died, very painfully by the way, everywhere?" But remember, Jesus is perfect and loves us all. The cross shows that so he wouldn't be ANGRY.

Suppose I was about to get hit by a car and my brother pushed me out of the way only to have his own leg run over. He goes away to the hospital to go through various operations and physical therapy. When he comes back home, he finds that I kept one of his crutches or some other material thing which reminded me of what he did for me. I would not expect him to be upset with me for remembering his immense love by keeping a token of the pain he underwent for my benefit, as long as that's what it was. If I kept it simply to obsess morbidly over his suffering and pain, my brother would probably feel like I missed the point of his heroic gesture. I imagine it will probably be the same with Jesus. Ideally, we have crosses to remind ourselves of Christ's love, not of Christ's pain.

The cross is the way He uses to help us accept our troubles and look to Him for comfort, consolation, mercy, grace and salvation from this world. When He comes back, we will simply look up at the cross with the Easter Linen hung across it, showing the Victory that we all shared in over this world. And we will be happy with Him forever, receiving His forgiveness and Love.

You might be right. He might freak out and start to go back to Heaven. The people wearing crosses would be like "Jesus?"

I never did understand that one. Why worship how Jesus died? I think he would want to follow how he lived, with love and charity.
Why a big cross? Why not something better, like a fish, wine, or love (a big heart)?

NO! If there is a god that is going to send everyone to eternal hell for not worshiping him, then that's one mean SOB. I think there was a person named Jesus that existed.. he probably did some cool stuff too. But I had a guy screaming he was god in my neighborhood yesterday and don't believe he was. Why should we believe this man 2000 years ago was "god".

Ok I have to admit that struck me as pretty funny.
But I think He knows that we only use the cross to remind ourselves of His love. So I think He'll be good with it.
