I have been lifting weights for about 2 months and my mom came home today and said that it stunts your growth. I'm 13 and 5'5 i grew about 3 inches since September.
How will weight lifting stunt my growth if it even does?

there is no medical evidence that shows that resistance training stunts the growth of the human skeletal system. there never has been any data to support these statements and there never will be.

LIFTING WEIGHTS DOES NOT STUNT GROWTH!!!! I dont know who came up with this nonsense but it is completely false.. there have been books written to prove weightlifting as a teen does not hamper growth.

I have heard that it does if you start too early in your youth, but am not sure if that's the case or not. They say that's part of the reason why Little Hercules is still little.
