For long and how many calories does your body burn after working out?

Also, if I sleep after working out does that stop the calorie burning? Like, if I get up at 5am and work out til 6, then sleep from 6-7 would that still count as a morning workout?

Thanks! :)

the extent of the "after-burn" affect or excess oxygen post exercise consumption (EPOC) depends on the intensity and duration of exercise. exercising at a low level of intensity does not provide much of an increase in the EPOC maybe only for 30 minutes. if you exercise at a high level of intensity >70% VO2max for 60-80 minutes the resting metabolic rate can be increased from 3-10 hours depending on the level of the trainer.

basically the more glucose that is burned during exercise the more free fatty acids (FFA's) will be oxidized after training. and the more fat that is utilized during exercise the more glucose is utilized after training. the body expends much more energy utilizing FFA's for energy than glucose. this is why exercising with light weights/high reps and performing cardio at a slow pace is not optimum for fat loss.

you don't burn calories from your workout once the workout stops. Your body is always burning calories fueling whatever it is you are doing, even in sleep. It will not harm your workout to sleep afterward altho I have no idea how you could do that. I can't sleep for hours after working out even if I work out late at night. The amount of calories you do burn in your workout depend on the heart rate you maintain during exercise and the size and makeup of your body. A larger body mass burns more calories running 1 mile than a smaller body mass. There are a lot of variables here.

You'll continue to burn extra calories for up to 90 minutes after aerobic exercise. How many calories you burn during exercise and at rest depends on lots of factors, including your age, fitness level, and how active you are. Sleeping after working out naturally means that you will not continue to burn at a higher rate after working out as you would if you were more active for longer after a workout, but it doesn't mean you will STOP burning calories (your body is always burning calories, even when you are sleeping!).

Well the whole thing burns and makes use of energy. Even if you're simply blinking, exept that does not use very so much. I'm now not optimistic however doing homework or revising for assessments typically does burn extra energy in view that you're being extra lively then while you simply take a seat round. Not definite what number of too.

Any workout you do will count as a morning workout, dear :] The "after burn" of workouts depends on how much you do during the workout, not what you do after. (activity wise)
