Perhaps Jewish people are more sensible when it comes to interpreting their holy books - I don't think they read it literally like some of those Christians you were talking about. Obviously they still choose not to eat pork, but I always thought that was more about religious purity laws, and the kosher thing, which Jews follow because it's traditional and part of being Jewish. Obviously they no longer stone adulterers or kill dissobedient children any more - since that would be cruel. Nor do they offer burnt offerings any more. I think they probably realise these rules were not written for people alive today. I suppose in any religion, laws that are written in stone will mean that religion will remain in the stone age, particularly if people try to interpret them literally as abosulte laws which can never change. I don't think the Jewish mind works like that, nor do I believe the majority of Christians work like that.

Because christians are under a better covenant.
A lot of the old Jewish Law is ritual as well, a placeholder until the Messiah came and provided salvation through being born of the Spirit, and through His sacrifice.
We read the Old Testament to gain instruction in good behaviour, principles, understanding of God's character; but less so than the New Testament, which reveals 'grace and truth' according to John 1.

Psa 89:27 Also I will make him [my] firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. (This is speaking of the Messiah)
Psa 89:28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
Psa 89:29 His seed also will I make [to endure] for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven. (Those who follow the Savior)
Psa 89:30 IF HIS CHILDREN FORSAKE MY LAW, AND WALK NOT IN MY JUDGEMENTS; (This does'nt sound like he fulfilled the Law for anyone.)
Psa 89:31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
Psa 89:32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
Isa 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
Isa 24:6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
Psa 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Jhn 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] that accuseth you, [even] Moses, in whom ye trust.
Jhn 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Jhn 5:47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
If you belong to the Savior you need to keep the Laws. Or you simply do not believe in him. THOSE ARE HIS OWN WORDS!

Because the laws are for the Jews. The covenant was made with the Jews. Then the J*sus followers got jealous and made up their own. They didn't like the rules from the old one so decided not to follow them.

Christ stated that he came because man cannot live by the laws of the old testimate. Reason: No one is perfect. As such, the only way to get to heaven is through Christ.
That is why the fundies do not observe the Jewish Law.
That is also why I get upset when the quote the Jewish Law - because Christ specifically stated that it was a good guide, but only through him could you get to heaven.

Because the Bible says the law was to teach us that we are sinners and to show us our need for God's grace through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. In the OT times- the dispensation of the law, Sin was covered temporarily by sacrifice until the permanent solution for sin came through Christ our Redeemer. During the dispensation of grace, also known as the church age, Sin is not just covered temporarily, it is washed away by the blood of Christ.

They hope people will forget that Jesus was a Jew and that the disciples considered themselves Jews after Jesus died. Even Jesus's brother, James, was a leader in Judaism for years after Jesus's death. Christians want to believe that Christianity started at Jesus's birth, but it started years after Jesus died. I seriously doubt that Christianity is what Jesus had in mind.
