Find a trainer in your area who has experience with or specializes in aggression training. Don't wait for your dog to bite someone or harm a child at the park, and make certain that she is always up to date on her vaccines, particularly rabies.

Wow you received a lot of bad answers. Your dog is aggressive because you have let her. She got away with it and now has trained you to allow her to do it. Obedience training was needed in the very beginning to control the dog and teach it good behavior. Now at this stage of the dog's aggressive behavior you need a good trainer/behaviorist to teach you how to control the dog. One thing I know about your dog without even having to observe the behavior is that the dog does not respect you as alpha or the pack leader, the dog thinks it is the pack leader. This is not good.
Don't hit the dog, don't use a shock collar, don't medicate the dog into a stupor. Get training and you will see that the dog is not naturally aggressive but just wasn't taught good behavior in the beginning.

I very own 3 canines precise now and a million cat. All 4 are rescues and that they have got interplay with the kinfolk of youngsters and grandchildren that even have pets (adult males, women human beings and the two canines and cats) ALL are neutered or spayed. 60 plus years in the past youngsters ran around with their canines in tow and having them spayed or neutered wasn't relatively accomplished. of direction at that element maximum kinfolk animals have been allowed to run unfastened and the canines license replaced into the suited to maintain the canines catcher from figuring out on them up. What occurred some have been hit and killed by skill of automobiles, even had "wiggles" the canines hit by skill of a passenger prepare lower back then;. quite often they had distemper and it may wipe out an entire mass of canines considering maximum weren't given the human characteristics they conjure up now a days. I help with a rescue and have seen terrible circumstances of animals that weren't even given love or petted or something. If it weren't for the rescues those creatures could come into the international without ever understanding what kindness and protection or perhaps foodstuff. lower back in the day i did no longer see skinny canines or cats, or abused animals it merely wasn't something that occurred. i'm helpful there have been cases yet to no longer the degree as is going on at present. Society as an entire seems to are starting to be to be meaner. The weaker and much less waiting to guard themselves be they human or animal are disposeable and clateral injury. What a tragic comentary in a time that scientific advances, awareness of reason and result are extra useful prevalent now a days extra so than any time in the history of the human race.

the best way to handle a dog with aggression problems is to put yourself back in charge, its not cute or sweet when dogs are aggressive to other humans unless you are in danger. Put yourself in charge when your dog does this, turn her over on her back and make her lay there, and firmly say no. You have to do this EVERY time. This works because it shows the dog that you are in charge and it can not be aggressive because if you wanted aggression you would display it yourself. Please do not let your dog get into trouble because of aggression issues, I am sure its a great dog worth the work! Good luck!

Dave SFV is 150% right. I couldn't agree with him more. You are responsible for your animal's behavior around anyone as it's owner. This dog can be rehabilitated with a proper behavior training plan. "REDZONE" dogs come in all sizes. Find a good trainer in your area and get busy with the pooch!

our dog is the same way. maybe not MEAN it was AGGRESIVE issues that was the problem. if he was let off leash he went crazy and he was ...well....aggresive. we'd been to see a lot of ppl-experts that knew a lot about it and eventually the vet had us start giving him medication(its actually medicine for PPL that have issues being too hyper-we can get it at walmart or CVS)
hes a LOT better about it since we started using it. if uve tried a lot of training with her(read books on it!!) and still, nothing, ask ur vet about sumthing that might help..
good luck!!
PS- DONT use shock collars. they r used by alot of ppl but its actually dangerous and has been known to seriously injure dogs. (electrical fences r the same)

show the dog who's boss make the dog obey you by saying no or bad dog and depending on the type of dog usually most will listen if not all will and also show that you are superior to the dog that should help.

since you know that your dog is this way it is your responsibility to keep the dog away from others, controlled at all times and without the ability to escape your property not to mention current on all vaccinations.

she's just trying to guard you. she thinks she's doing you a favor. just say "NO BAD DOG" whenever she gets mean and hopefully it will stop. i think since she's so smalll it wont be that big of a deal, if she gets mean pick her up and put her in your room until she stops. like a "time out"
