you or absolutely correct! Floyd dominated the fight. why would Floyd brawl with a fighter that out weights him by about twenty pounds. Floyd is a counter puncher he landed over 50% of his punches and landed more than delahoya. Floyd weighted in at 149 in the 154 class delahoya came into the match well over 160. delahoya is a middle weight mayweather is a welterweight. these people don't know **** about boxing to say delahoya won. and his father took delahoyas side because he still wants to train him.

It wasn't Floyd's style that disappointed many fans, it was Floyd's failure to follow up on all the trash he talked during the pre-fight tour to publicize the match. Floyd insulted and threated DeLa Hoya with all kind of manner of beatings, then when the time came to put up, Floyd was content to allow Oscar to carry the fight and stay on the outside pot shoting from a safe distance. Floyd never really landed any serious punishment on DeLa Hoya after months of threatening to do so. I have seen ;many Mayweather fights and predicted all along an easy decision for Floyd, still it would have been nice if a fight broke out during the boxing match.

The Sweet Science. Thank you Pretty Boy for showing the world what a real boxer looks like. Every young person who ever wants to put on a pair of boxing gloves should be made to look at this fight first it is a boxing clinic a beautiful work of art. If Pretty Boy ran as much as the casual fan says he did he would not have gotten the win. This is not MMA this is boxing hit and don,t get hit that is the name of our game and when a fighter comes along that has these skills it is a beautiful thing to watch. There have been others Sugar Ray Robinson and Leonard Pernell Whitaker Roy Jones Jr. James Tony just to name a few. I wish that all of you Pretty Boy haters would put aside your hate and enjoy him while he is around because who knows when we will see another one like him what a performance bravo bravo bravo.

yeah i seen him fight before.
the reason im mainly disappointed is that De La Hoya really deserved to win. floyd just wanted to run. oscar went in and let the fists fly without fear. He showed all the heart. it seemed that floyd was content with droping a jab and moving basically the whole fight.
floyd didnt act like he even wanted to be in the fight.
and i did expect him to put on a good offensive show since he talked about knocking out de la hoya and such but as soon as the opening bell rang and he felt a few hard de la hoya punches he ran.
he should have done what he said he was going to do and make it a fight...not a "show" everything he did was trying to be flashy. he must have not got the memo...
ITS A ******* FIGHT...
however, if he wanted to use the defensive game plan thats fine...the only thing i really think made me mad is how the judges scored it wrong...should have been de la hoya by split decision or a draw at the very least...not a mayweather decision.

yep, I took 8 of my friends to the card in SF at the civic where he was the headliner and Pac man was on the undercard, great fight card...lots of big names there to watch too, first title fights in the city in years...I also watch most all the fights I can as some friends of mine were pro fighters and trainers...saw the Baldomir fight, the Gotti fight, the Corrales fight and he destroyed those guys, corrales was undefeated at the time and he ate so much canvas the corner threw in the towel, he landed almost 4 to 1 against gotti before his corner had enough, and 5-2 against baldomir, he pounded chavez for his first title and outpunched many boxer/punchers on his way up...its his quickness and defense, a combination of footspeed, handspeed and head movement which people mistake for 'running' believe me if Oscar had any of those gifts he would still be a champion instead of a 3 fight of the last 5 loser, quitting when Hopkins hit him with that body punch...so yeah...Im WELL familiar with Floyd and his fighting style...

yes I've seen most of his bigger fights including in person in Fresno, there are diffrent styles and strategies to win a fight, some are crowd pleasing others are not, that's why it's called the "sweet science"
