They all seem normal to me, I've definitely cooked with them all.

What in the world is this recipe for? It doesn't sound very good, like a gooey quiche with rice and without cheese, or really runny rice....I'm so confused. I hope there's other stuff that's supposed to go in this! Also, the cinnamon and nutmeg together are great (usually found in pumpkin pies or oatmeal cookies or spice cake) but with the lemon rind I'm not so sure.

Thank you Cheryl R for telling me what this recipe is! And for the person who doesn't know where to get short grain rice in So Cal (I live there too) try Whole Foods Market, they have both white and brown short grain rice.

I don't know where all these other folks live, but short grain rice of any color is awfully difficult to find where I am (So California.) We have tons of varieties of long grain rice, but short grain or round grain may be really tough to find. If you are coming to visit and want to make this for someone while you're here, you may want to consider bringing some with you. I have some recipes from Sweden and Germany that call for the round grain or short grain rice, but I just can't make them here because the stuff is too hard to find.

We have plenty of lemons, but the rind is not usually sold in strips anywhere I normally shop. If you're prepared to cut your own, you'll be fine. Otherwise, bring those with you, too!

Everything sounds pretty normal to me except the cinnamon stick. Pretty much it's only used for a stirrer in cocoa or coffee.

They are all used...probably the cinnamon stick is used the least.
