All have scholars who know the original texts and languages of the Bible...all feel inspired by God.

However, each religion interprets some of the same scriptures differently....which is correct? Which is of God?

Serious question....how can they all be right if they all interpret scripture differently?

There is no one true Religion. God Himself spread man across the Earth, and therefore there are many different Religions. Each of the Religions all lead you to the same God. It just depends on what you believe in, and/or how you believe you should worship Him.

Think of this - If you had a job picking out counterfeit money - how would you go about doing that? By examining all the fake money? No, you would study the real thing and then you would be able to tell the fake ones from the real. That's what you must do to find the true religion.

The Bible doesn't teach that all religions are good. Matthew 7:21-23 says, "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.” So in order to have God's approval we have to find out what it is that God wants us to do. There are 6 things that identify true worshipers -
1. God’s servants base their teachings on the Bible.
2. Those who practice the true religion worship only Jehovah and make his name known.
3. God’s people show genuine, unselfish love for one another.
4. True Christians accept Jesus Christ as God’s means of salvation.
5. True worshipers are no part of the world.
6. Jesus’ true followers preach that God’s Kingdom is mankind’s only hope.

If you are searching for the true religion, call your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and ask for a free home Bible study.

Dear James,

Excellent question! Each one of these religions believes that they have the "exclusive truth." Either one of them is correct or perhaps all of them are wrong.

The problem is in hermaneutics-the method of Bible interpretation. God gives the laws of Bible interpretation in His word:

1. Christ spoke in parables (Mark 4:33, 34). Since the entire Bible is God's word, the entire Bible is written in parabolic language. Historical events listed are actuallhistorical parables.

2. In order to come to truth one must compare Scripture with Scripture (1 Corinthians 2:13). This is one of the greatest problems for people because they are lazy. It takes a lot of time to read ALL the Scriptures that contain a particular word or phrase. One must also check to see if the translators did their work correctly by looking at the Hebrew or Greek lexicons.

3. In Isaiah 28:9-13 God tells us that the Bible never contradicts itself. Therefore, if we believe we have found truth, it must harmonize with everything else in the Bible. If we find something contrary to our original thesis, we have to throw it away and start over again.

4. We cannot come to truth unless the Lord is guiding us. He is the only One that open our spiritual eyes. Therefore, much prayer is required in Bible study.

Unless one is saved (1 Corinthians 2:14) and following God's rules for interpretation, Bible truth will not be discerned.

As far as Mormons go, they aren't really Christian. They have changed their own Book of Mormon because they knew it was wrong. Not a slam against the followers because I don't think most of them are aware of that.

Regarding other Christian churches, we all believe that Jesus is Lord. Just because we disagree on some points doesn't mean we aren't ultimately united in the same Faith. There are some zealots who will bash the others but most good Christians are going to recognize other Christians as their brothers and sisters.

Because Christians are all going to interpret things differently. We (as Christians) have to find out for ourselves was is true to us, through faith, through prayer.

One of my favorite scriptures of all-time. James 1:5, which states:

"If any of you lack wisdom, LET HIM ASK OF GOD, that giveth to all men liberally, and dupbraideth not; and it shall be given him. "

By the way, Sparty, Mormons are Christians. We believe in Christ and accept him as the Savior. The BOM has been altered, but that should not discount Mormons as Christians. Going by that logic, one might as well reject the Bible, because it, too, is not the same today as it was in its original writings. It, too, has been altered.

you're incorrect by skill of a extensive quantity!! Christianity has been chop up into over 36,000 diverse denominations, sects and cults placing christian against christian and christians against everybody else!! God's paintings? infrequently!! It must be the devil and the Antichrist working at the same time to divide, triumph over and destroy christianity from the interior!!!

those aren't religions. they're different denominations of Christianity except the Mormons. They're wrong. As long as you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins it doesn't matter how you interpret certain things. That also leaves out the 7th Day Adventist Church because they have church on Sundays because they interpret the 7 days of creation differently and they don't believe Jesus has come yet I think.

They are all right because God wants them to be right. They contain the truth, that is what makes them true. They contain wisdom, that is what makes them wise. It is the in the possession of this substance that gives all religions its meaning. And what is this substance? This substance, is true happiness, divinity, the single greatest blessing life can yield.

Matt 28:19 talks about how to baptize in the Trinity
Any church that preaches the Trinity is part of the true church.....that leaves out the Mormons

It's like asking which marvel superhero is the real one.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
