No they won't.

Nor should they.

There are things your husband can do, to effect where he is stationed.

He can volunteer for overseas duty in Germany, or anywhere else in Europe.

He can volunteer for a unaccompanied Short Tour, and get a guaranteed post assignment afterwards.

With prior planning, you could almost assure that you would not be assigned in the south.

But since most military post are in the south, thats going to be very hard to do.

You didn't say what service your husband is in.

So no one can give specific for that service recomendations.

Depending on his rank, he can also swap duty assignments with another service member in his mos or afsc.

You can also do post or base swaps with service members in your same rank and mos/afcs.

The cost of the move, you have to pay yourself and you have to use your own leave to do the move.

But it is possible.

That's right the Army is not going to take this into consideration. Your son chose to enlist in the Army. The Army has bases all over the world, most of them in places the majority of Americans wouldn't want to live. He was given a full medical screening at MEPS and apparently he didn't disclose FULLY how bad his allergies really are. The military asks potential recruits pages of medical questions for a reason to avoid situations like this one. He should have enlisted in the Navy or Coast Guard if he wanted some fresh sea air. As far as what to do, he is going to need to suck it up and go to medical to get his meds for his allergies. Other than that, it isn't summer camp where you get to just go home if you're not having a good time. The Army takes care of it's people but this was something he got himself into. The needs of the Army will always come first. He should have been more up front and maybe the Army would have told him no thank you and he could have stayed home with you. The reality of life isn't always fair.

Unfortunately, most of the big Army posts are in the South...that's one of the reasons my wife won't let me go back active duty.

It was funny for me...I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and and horrible allergies my entire childhood... when I joined the Army and moved to Germany they got worse, but when I moved to Kansas they went away completely. Awesome.

I am not certain, but I don't think that those kinds of provisions are within the scope of regulation. You might make a few inquiries through your chain of command, but I don't think that will get you very far. Perhaps, if all else fails, mention it to the Chaplain and see if he has any idea. For the most part, though, I don't think there is much you can do.

i dont know about the army, in the air force unless you can prove that there arent doctors at your current base that can treat the problem the only thing you can do is fill out a dream sheet with bases you want to go to wait out your time there and pray you get sent where you want. i have 3 kids out of my 4 that are in the exceptional family member program sothey are limited on the bases we cango to because we need to be in a place with a pediatric urologist, and a physical therapy program for infants. My youngest daughter has terrible allergies though and her allergies arent a consideration because they can be treated anywhere.

I am an army wife and have been for 14 years, I have severe allergies (grass ,trees ,dust and much much more) we are stationed in Ft. Drum NY...since being here (going on 3 years) my allergies have gotten worse and I now have asthma. The army will not re locate us, however they will put you on an EFMP...Im not allowed to have carpeting in our quarters, I have to have air conditioning and have to live on the 1st floor...this will apply to every post we get stationed at. Try going to EFMP and start the process.

He can deny a distant excursion (as quickly as); whether, would be banned from reenlistment and promoting. If he denies the excursion and is derived up on orders back, he has no decision yet to bypass. severe threat being pregnant isn't a rationalization for him to stay at the back of and is not any longer seen a hassle. the army will recommend you stumble on family contributors or somebody else to stay with. If family contributors duties have become interior the way of him appearing his responsibilities, he might nicely be discharged. He can ask for an extention and characteristic his orders deferred to grant you extra time to devise. i grew to become into pregnant with our son while my husband got here down on orders for Korea and that i had 2 2 365 days olds at living house. it somewhat is just one thing you manage.

I am not sure if allergies qualify you or not, but have you looked into the exceptional family member program? You might find that if things are well documented that you can make a case for a move. It is always worth a shot.

Good luck.

No, the military does not care about your son's allergies. You can try and have your doctor put in his expert opinion but it wont carry much weight if any. Can you put in requests for bases you would like to be stationed at, like the Air Force? If you can then I would pick all northern states and hope for the best. Good luck.

The military can not consider and act favorably on every request from each person, they would cease to function. The needs of the Army come first. Try to move north on your next PCS.

The military only gives your husband what they think is best as far as health care. They have to man certain areas of the military with qualified personnel. Sorry to say but a person on in the military with dependents is a whole lot of extra baggage for them in many ways. Been there. Sorry
